These cards are to be cut out individually and placed face down, the students split into groups

of 3-4 and there are to take one turn at a time to flip 2 cards over before the next person gets a turn. The aim is to find the matches between the short description and the different environments that are found along the Great Ocean Road. These are listed on the other cards. The winner has the most pairs when the cards run out. Ignore all empty boxes and remove them from the deck of cards.

COASTAL DUNE SCRUB

Includes plants well suited to the most exposed section of the coast and include many dune binding plants e.g. Hairy Spinifex, Often growing on calcareous dunes and cliffs on the coast dominated by Coastal Moonah Trees Home to an enormous range of species, fish, crustaceans, reptiles, birds and mammals.

COASTAL MOONAH WOODLANDS

MARINE/OCEAN ENVIRONMENTS

Restricted to secondary dunes COASTAL BASNKSIA WOODLAND behind Coastal Dune scrub e.g. Banksia, Drooping She-oak and Boobialla Trees In flatter areas of low energy coastlines e.g. Salt-bush.

They are managed under the same act as national parks although they are generally smaller. Protect marine and coastal environments.
