Spinnaker Television station manager chosen as the student director for the College Broadcasters Incorporated (CBI) board.
Jacksonville, FL A sophomore at University of North Florida, Connor Speilmaker will take his position December 1, 2013. CBI is based in Pennsylvania and originated in 1998. The CSI board has seven voting members and two non-voting. It claims more than 300 member stations, including both Spinnaker Television and Spinnaker Radio. As the student director, Mr. Speilmaker will be representing student-run television stations around the country. This includes digital developments, preparing a monthly station member spotlight for the CBI website, and assisting the Fall National Convention. He will hold this position for a term of one year. So far my time at Spinnaker has been the highlight of my college career. I am honored to be chosen as the student director of CBI. If it wasnt for Spinnaker I would not of had this great opportunity, said Connor. Connor has served as the station manager of Spinnaker Television since January 2013. Previously he anchored Spinnaker Televisions evening news program and hosted a radio show on Spinnaker Radio. Before college, Connor anchored and ran tech for his high schools daily news program. He is a communications major with a concentration multimedia journalism and production.
