Meaning: Data is raw, unorganized facts that need to be processed. Data can be something simple and seemingly random and useless until it is organized. Data doesnt have any meaning. Example: Each student's test score is one piece of data

Information
When data is processed, organized, structured or presented in a given context so as to make it useful, it is called Information. Information has meaning.

The class' average score or the school's average score is the information that can be concluded from the given data.

most important program that runs on a computer. Every general-purpose computer must have an operating system to run other programs. Operating systems perform basic tasks, such as recognizing inputfrom the keyboard, sending output to the display screen, keeping track of filesand directories on the disk, and controlling peripheral devices such as disk drives and printers.

An operating system or OS is a software program that enables the computer hardware to communicate and operate with the computer software.
