To treat systemic and pulmonary hypertension in the presence of a bronchopulmonary process is a challenging
problem which is yet to be solved. Systemic pulmonary hypertension occurs in 20-25% of all patients with
pulmonary diseases. The level of systemic arterial pressure correlates with pulmonary pressure. Hypoxia plays an
important role in the greater and lesser circulations. Progressive right and left cardiac dysfunctions concurrent with
the abnormality worsen the course and prognosis, resulting in cardiopulmonary failure in time.
