D Materials: Recorder iPod with Kids by MGMT cued up Visual aid

Guitar/Recorder Due: 9/21/12

Sequence: Review B, A, and G Introduce high D (use visual aid) : make the point that you cant over-blow or it will go out of tune; also make mention of the fact that you really have to stay up and over the mouthpiece or usually lose steam quickly Practice going between B and D Teach the melody(ies) ***Only teach melody 2 if the group quickly and successfully grasps melody 1 NOTE PATTERNS: Melody 1: G A B D D D D D D B D B A G Melody 2: B B B B B B B B D B A G (control yourself) * rest snap snap snap* G B B B D B A G (a family of trees)/ D D B A G (haunted) Sing with recorder on chin and finger melody 1 (G, A, B, D, etc.) and, subsequently, melody 2 (chorus) Practice the melodies with the whole group Split the whole group into two melody groups Bring melody 1 in first, and then bring in melody 2; repeat twice; lead out with melody 1 (closing musical activity) Ta-da!
