Master of Arts

in World Missions
and Evangelism
what? Te Master of Arts in World Missions and Evange-
lism equips students to become global Christians and live out
the Great Commission around the world. Five concentrations
allow for focused study in a particular area: general, church
planting, cross-cultural counseling, cross-cultural teaching
and Islamic studies.
WHO? Students in the M.A. in World Missions and Evange-
lism program come with varied levels of cross-cultural
experience, from short-term missions trips to years in the
feld. Many are interested in overseas missions, while others
desire to work amongst cross-cultural populations in the U.S.
why? In addition to learning from highly qualifed and
experienced faculty, many who have spent signifcant time in
the mission feld, students are able to take advantage of the
vast resources on campus: the J Christy Wilson, Jr. Center for
World Missions; the Center for the Study of Global Christian-
ity; the Overseas Missions Practicum; and Gordon-Conwells
longstanding relationship with the Lausanne Movement.
WHATS NEXT? M.A. in World Missions and Evangelism
graduates generally pursue careers in overseas missions,
cross-cultural teaching or counseling, or church planting.
Our grads are living and ministering in places like Yemen,
Lebanon, Kenya, Morocco, China, Tailand and Turkey.
My Gordon-Conwell experience provided a deeper theological grounding
plus very practical knowledge regarding cross-cultural missions, all of which
equipped me to more efectively serve the needs of those with whom I
work alongside in Europe. I was challenged to stretch and grow academi-
cally and spiritually at Gordon-Conwellwhich is not always a comfortable
process, but is excellent preparation for ministry in todays world.
