I believe these artifacts align best with Standard Ten: Collaboration; Teachers are Connected With Other Teachers and the Community. The teacher fosters relationships with school colleagues, parents, and agencies in the larger community to support pupil learning and well-being and acts with integrity, fairness and in an ethical manner. Both of these artifacts align with this standard because I am working with teachers or parents. At River ridge wellness days I was able to present movement to the staff of the school district and then to the students. We were able to help facilitate students learning by teaching them healthy choices, stress relieving activities, and non-bullying skills / characteristics. While working with David and his mother in the partner ship with families I was really able to see the behind the sense stuff for children with disabilities by learning more about IEPs, different clubs for students with disabilities around the area, how hard it is for a student to except that he is different and a bunch more stuff that people dont see and only the parent of the student does. I gained experience talking to parents but also experience working with students with a disability.

I believe these artifacts align with KSD4.c. Engages Students in Learning; The candidate has the ability to engage students in the learning process by linking appropriate content, based upon suitable instructional materials and resources, to students knowledge and experience, being certain that all students are cognitively engaged in the activities/assignments and that the students actively contribute to the content design. Instruction is highly coherent and appropriately paced for all students and allows reflection and closure as appropriate. I believe the experience I had at River Ridge aligns best with this KSD because the lesson we created and implemented really engaged all the students physically, emotionally and cognitively while broadening their knowledge. Throughout the day we changed lesson plans as needed based on the students age level, for example: health in a hurry the older students knew about food groups and what was the right food to bring back to their shopping carts where as the younger kids we had to break down the foods into colors and taste in order for them to understand the my plate theory. Another KSD that best aligns with this artifact is KSD 4.f. Shows Professionalism: The Candidate has the ability to participate professionally in staff decision-making and be highly proactive in serving students, working to assure that all students, particularly those traditionally underserved, have opportunity for success in school. I believe this artifact also aligns with this KSD because it shows our Professionalism through our presentation to the River Ridge Staff and our leadership skills by leading all the students through the lesson plans that day.
