Gadsden County SHIP Administrator, Phillips Moore, Honored for Receiving Outstanding SHIP Administrator Award at Board of County Commissioners Meeting
Tallahassee, Fla. Phyllis Moore, State Housing Initiative Partnership (SHIP) program administrator for the Gadsden County Community Development Department, will be honored for receiving the Outstanding SHIP Administrator award from the Florida Housing Coalition TODAY, Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at 6 p.m. EST during the Gadsden County Board of County Commissioners Meeting. Moore has led an exemplary career of public service, championing affordable housing for the community of Gadsden County and creating a model SHIP program for rest of the state. The Gadsden County SHIP program has made a tremendous difference by providing for adequate heating and a sanitary environment to frail and elderly homeowners, and has provided down payment and closing cost assistance to Gadsden County residents who could otherwise not afford to own a home. ### The Sadowski Housing Coalition is a nonpartisan collection of 25 statewide organizations. This Coalition came together in 1991 with the goal of obtaining a dedicated revenue source for Floridas affordable housing program, resulting in the Sadowski Act that raised the documentary stamp tax to fund Floridas state and local housing trust funds. Membership in the Sadowski Coalition ranges from business and industry groups to low income advocates and faith-based organizations, demonstrating a wide breadth of support across all industries in the State of Florida.
