中五考生參加香 港 中學會考(會考)後，如獲學校取錄升讀中六，一般兩年後便報考香 港 高級程度會考(高考)。本表比較首次報

考高考的日校考生在2008年高考的表現和他們在2006年會考的成績。
After the HKCEE, S5 candidates who are admitted to sixth-form courses will normally take the HKALE after two years. This Table
compares the performance of AL day school first attempters in the 2008 HKALE with their results in 2006 HKCEE.

表 6a 比較不同會考成績的考生在高考的整體表現。
Table 6a compares the candidates’ performance in the two examinations as a whole.

表 6b 列出在高考和會考出席相關科目的考生人數及積分相關系數。
Table 6b shows the candidate numbers and subject-mark correlations for candidates who sat related subjects in the HKALE and HKCEE.

表 6c 則列出考生在高考和會考每對相關科目的成績等級比較。
Table 6c analyses the candidates’ performance in each pair of related subjects in the HKALE and HKCEE in terms of subject grade
comparison.

注意: 在比較考生在高考和會考的表現時，需留意下列各點:
(1) 統計根據在2008年高考和2006年會考均有出席的首次報考高考日校考生的成績作比較。
(2) 部分相關科目出席考生人數甚少，統計未必可靠。人數少於20的科目將不作比較。
(3) 相關科目的高考和會考考生成績相關系數若太低，代表考生在兩個考試的表現未必有重大關係。
Note: In comparing the candidates’ performance in HKALE and HKCEE, the following should be noted:
(1) The statistics are based on the results of HKALE day school first attempters who sat both the 2008 HKALE and 2006 HKCEE.
(2) The numbers of candidates taking both examinations for some related subjects are very small and the statistics may not be reliable.
Subjects with less than 20 candidates taking both examinations are not included in the comparison.
(3) If the correlation coefficient between the AL and CE results is very low, this indicates that there may be little relation between the
candidates' results in the two subjects.
