INTO THE REALM OF CELLS

Prokaryotic Cells, Eukaryotic Cells, and Viruses Graphic Organizer Assignment Objective: Throughout this unit we have learned about prokaryotic cells, eukaryotic cells, and viruses. This lesson will help put all the information we have learned together, and will even help us learn even more. At the end of this assignment, you will confidently be able to say, I know the difference between prokaryotic cells, eukaryotic cells (plant cells and animal cells), and viruses in regards to general structure and complexity. This will be a group project, so make sure you do your part to accurately complete this assignment.

Directions: You will need to get into groups of 3 or 4. Make sure you form productive groups because we will only be working on this assignment for one class period. Once you are all in your groups, we will proceed down to the computer lab to find the information for your T-Chart. You are to find information to answer the questions for prokaryotic cells, eukaryotic cells, and viruses. The information is to be put in the appropriate row and column. Use the websites listed below to fill in the information (ONLY these sites). Everyone needs to turn in their own paper with their name, and the names of the members in the group. You can divide the sections up evenly among your group if you want, just make sure you show what information you personally found. You will not only be graded on the accuracy of your assignment, but your group participation as well. Your answers may be written in full sentence form or bulleted/list form. Make sure all your information is filled out before you leave the classroom because we will have a quickwrite activity with this information the following class period. REMEMBER: This time is for class work only! You are not to use this time to use social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc.), browse the web, instant message others, etc. If I catch you doing so: 1. You will receive a zero (0) for this assignment and the quickwrite, and 2. You will lose computer privileges.
