Rhiannon has been very generous with her time by attending a wide range of meetings and outside hours activities. She has attended Performing Arts Tour Meetings, Performing Arts Curriculum Meetings, Attended Music Extension Concerts (did the sound for mics and backing tracks), attended Choir and JazzBand. Rhiannon took sectionals for Choir, played Alto Sax in the Jazz Band offering advice for tuning and giving our students tangible skills to develop their tuning aurally, rather than relying on an electronic device. She relates very well to the students and is perceptive, attending to their individual needs. Rhiannon has demonstrated reflection on her practice and shown a dramatic improvement in her pedagogy and delivery in in the classroom. She has always dressed professionally and appropriately and treated both students and staff with commendable respect. Rhiannon has particularly impressed me with her acceptance of constructive feedback and working effectively to overcome
any challenges.

PLANNING AND PREPARATION

Students should demonstrate an ability to: (a ) Consult with mentor teacher about the syllabus and the nature ofthe class; (b) Identify appropriate objectives ofunits and lessons; (c) Take into account different student abilities and be responsive to student needs; (d) Prepare adequate lesson plans, with a logical sequence of leaming activities; (e) Show imagination and initiative in identif, ing, accessing, and incorporating resources; (f) Incorporate opportunities for feedback to students; (g) Allocate time effectively.

Rhiannon has used a wide variety of resources including technology. Initially, her lesson pace was a little slow and she has worked extremely hard to perfect the art of pace in the classroom context. Her detailed planning has meticulous timing and activities for each lesson. Her sequencing within her planning has been effective, particularly in the Junior school e.g. Religion: Procrastination in our Moral Challenges unit was explicitly taught and then she built a game around this concept to further develop the students understanding. Rhiannon is particularly attentive during practical lessons, ensuring that she offers guidance and advice for each student in their prac rooms. Her final lesson for year 11 was particularly effective demonstrating a wide range of resources including: power-point, you-tube (conversion), sound sources, manuscript and live performing, singing prayers. Her analysis and evaluation of the Music Elements are thorough and extensive.

(e) Work with individual students, small groups (ifapplicable), and with a full class; (f) Interpret lesson plans flexibly. (f) Select and
use a variety ofresources and approaches; (h) Present the lesson effectively, i.e. voice, eye contact, manner, suitable language level.

Although Rhainnon is extremely shy, she has really improved in her delivery and projection to students. She has a wonderful sense of humour which assists in engaging her students. Rhiannon uses a range of teaching styles including explicit teaching, brain storming and allowing students to direct the learning. I would like to see Rhiannon further develop her skills in being more flexible and improvising in the classroom when students engage in related learning. Her ability to give concrete examples if developing quickly and will continue when she is a

Rhiannon has a thorough understanding of the musical elements and compositional devices and how these relate to each other in the dimensions of Practical, Composition and Analysing Repertoire. She has embraced taking the Year 8 Religion class and has researched ideas and concepts for SEL (Social and Emotional Learning) to use a variety of you-tube clips, power-points and examples to further elaborate on her teaching. Rhiannon ensured that she had listened to the songs that students performed in Senior Music to gain a better understanding of how they might be interpreted and communicated for their assessment.

LEARNING ENVIRONMENT - MANAGEMENT AND DISCPLINE Students should demonstrate an ability to: (a) Organise and manage the classroom to ensure

a positive, supportive and appropriate climate for leaming. (b) Establish and maintain appropriate behaviour management strategies; (c) Develop sound professional and personal relationships with students. (c) Deal appropriately with minor intemrptions; (e) Manage general organisation and administration.

Rhiannon had an effective use of eye contact and proximity to prevent poor behaviour in the majority of her lessons. I would like to see her build a little more confidence in approaching students earlier rather than later to modiff behaviour. She could be a little more assertive with students to ensure they know the boundaries. Rhiannon always maintain a very positive and safe atmosphere for students, which encouraged them to ask questions.

Rhiannon spent a great deal of time \^/orking with me on Senior Assessment in Music and discussing the levels of achievements for Year lland 12 Music and Year 12 Music Extension. She viewed performing assessment and judged this effectively against the criteria and task. Rhiannon was always punctual in her marking and returning of assessment. She gave appropriate feedback to students in both Music_and Rgliglon, Rhiannon has a thorough understanding of assessment and the standards in Queensland.

Congratulations on an impressive practicum over the past four weeks. She has really improved and developed as a young teacher in pedagogy and confidence. Rhiannon has a generous heart and is very creative in her approach to teaching a new concepts. She needs to believe in her ability as an educator and leave with the knowledge that she has all the tools to equip her for the future as a Music educator. Rhiannon had a great rapport with both staff and students in the school situation and was always generous with her time to assist in any way. Her gentle, encouraging and positive rtalure will lnake her as assel olr any staff.

I would like to wish Rhiannon all the very best in the future
