Directions: Your Professional Development Plan (PDP) serves as a guide toward continuous improvement during your teacher preparation program. List specific competencies, skills and dispositions you would like to improve on this form, using input from FEAP evaluation reviewed with your mentor teacher, feedback from your faculty steward, and other sources you deem reliable. What do I want to improve? (list specific improvement goals) I will work on incorporating more ESE/ELL accommodations directly into my instruction How will I achieve this? (list specific steps you will take) I will use more pictures and realia when teaching new concepts so that students can gain a visual understanding of the concepts being taught. I will make better use of manipulatives to enforce concepts so that students are able to have a hands on approach in order to develop concrete understanding of abstract concepts and improve problem-solving skills I will set aside time or take advantage of resources (i.e. aide) so that I can work with students that require extra assistance or aid can get it. When will I achieve this? By the end of my first year teaching

What do I want to improve? (list specific improvement goals) I will be more assertive with the relationships I maintain with my students.

How will I achieve this? (list specific steps you will take) I will set clear rules an expectation for what I expect from my class. I will take the time to get to know each of my students and build close relationships but will have clear boundaries. I want them to respect me but also know they can come to me if needed. I will be fair and consistent when applying consequences by addressing issues immediately and applying appropriate consequences to the actions. I will be enthusiastic and have fun teaching. Even when the subject or topic isnt very interesting I will do my best to make it so by incorporating games and activities that will peak my students interests. I will provide specific praise and recognition to students who do well on tasks. I will encourage students to further explore subjects that interest them. I will incorporate fun activities by creating lessons filled with hands on activities.
