You need to know the following facts in order to answer questions in a multiple choice format.

George Washington: The strong colonists chose a wise and strong leader. William Moultrie: Led American troops and defeated the British Thomas Jefferson: The Declaration of Independence was mostly written by him. Francis Marlon: led a group of volunteer soldiers in South Carolina. Nicknamed Swamp Fox Rebecca Motte: let Marions troops set fire to her house in order to capture British troops who had taken it over. John Rutledge: helped write the US Constitution Charles Pinckney: helped write the US Constitution Aedankus Burke: served in the General Assembly and wanted each state to have more power.

Colonists were angry about paying taxes. They didnt like that they had no say in the taxes! Tax on Stamps: colonists must buy special stamps to put on all newspaper books and documents. Patriot:

Loyalist:
fought against the patriots remained loyal to England were scared to make the King of England angry gladly paid taxes without boycotting gladly opened their homes to the British
