Thetricktoshowingpositivetransferherewasfocusingonthepresenceorabsenceofa featureV2orderinginthisstudyscase.AllL3languageshadthefeature.Learnershadthefeaturein eithertheirL1orL2,butnotboth.Sointhisonecase,positivetransfercouldbefound. Twodrawbacksexistwithinthestudy.One:9participants.9.Two:Thelanguagesinvolved were(mostly)extremelycloselyrelatedwithlonghistoriesofcontact.German,English,Dutchand Swedish.
