Cutting Out an object in Photoshop 1.

Create a new layer from background layer (that is the original layer you start with). 2. Use the pen tool and draw a line around the object. you can draw a line around the holes later (think like the inside of a doughnut). 3. Use the selection tool to select the path and then convert it to a vector mask. 4. Click the mask icon in the layers panel and refine accordingly. for example. Feather the line to soften the edges. 5. You can create a fill layer in the background. Click the vector layer mask icon in the layers panel, and draw another line around the circle you want to cut our. It will then become part of the vector mask. If some of the points on the line seem to sharp, select the 'convert anchor point' tool, then go around and convert the sharp points into curved ones.
