Growing up after moving was hard. I was not always the most liked kid in school, or the smartest or the most athletic. People were not the nicest or loyal or real friends, but my dad was. He was my friend from 5th-6th grade. He was not selfish, he was self disciplined and he would never let me down or leave me behind. Therefore Odysseus is not a hero because he was selfish, not self discipline and left people behind. Odysseus is not a hero because he was a selfish leader and person. For example he taughted the Cyclops when him and his men almost got away which gave away him and his mens position. This allowed the Cyclops to strike and kill several men. Another example was when he did not listen to death warnings given to him by Tiresias. He kept on going home which lead to the deaths of almost his whole crew. Another example of Odysseus being selfish is when he was never there for his son Telemachus. He should have not cared about himself and should have cared more about his child and his son. Odysseus is not a hero because he would leave men behind. For example Elephenor was part of Odysseus crew who fell off a roof and snapped his neck and was left there by Odysseus. This is an example of Odysseus not being a hero because a captain's first rule is never leave a man behind, no matter what. Odysseus left a man behind and did not really care. Another example is he left his dog Argus for 20 years. This is an example of Odysseus not being a hero because he left his dog to survive for 20 years on his own. Another example is he left his men with Circe. He did not care about where his men were as long as he was able to keep going.

Odysseus is not a hero becuase he did not have self discipline. For example he lead his men straight into Circe who turned half of his men into swine. He lead his men staight to Circe when he knew better. Another example is when he kept trying to go home knowing his men were starving. He should have done the right thing and stoped at a decent island for sustenance but he wanted to keep going. This lead to his men eating sun cattle and got killed by Scylla and Charybdis. Another example is when Aeolus, the god of winds, gave Odysseus a bag of winds to safely sail home and he opened them andn disobeyed Aeolus. He should have obeyed Aeolus orders and he would have sailed home safley but instead he disobeyed Aeolus which got Aeolus mad and pushed them back for a longer journey home. My dad is my hero and represents heroism because he was unselfish, he never left me behind or left my feeling behind and he was selfdiscipline. Therefore Odysseus is not a hero becuase he is selfish, he left people behind and because he was not self discipline. This resulted in serveral death among Odysseus crew.
