Following the American Revolution, Americans were reluctant to give its new government the powers they had grown to resent Great Britain for during the war such as the power to tax and the power to have an army. Is this myth confirmed or busted Based on this evidence the myth about the American people being reluctant to give power that they grew to hate before and during the revolution to the new government was absolutely confirmed. Patriotic Americans were not about to give up their new liberties that they have fought so hard for against British nation, the strongest military in the world. After a long hard fought cold war the Americans we victories and were now free from the evil British parliament. With patriotic vigor still flowing through their blood they were not about to willingly give that power to a new parliament in America without great consideration. It mainly source talked about the rocky start the United States under George and Adams. Than it talked about the forming and need of the articles of Confederation. It laid out it fundamental flaws the main one being that it made congress to weak and left the justice system in charge of each state. It also spoke of resentment to give any power to the central government was the reason the articles of confederation was adopted. After see the failure of the articles they founded the United States constitution which is still working to this day. It talks about the Irony that the new US constitution was very similar to the one of great Brittan which they just fought a very bloody revolution to be free of may be back now. Then it talked about the Articles of confederation and its eventual failure. Not all was lost that US citizens won the bill rights and secured them certain rights important to the US citizen. change law or have enough power to do anything useful the states kept their sovereignty but at the cost of looking weak and unable to keep their word to other nations around the world.
