Concepts Used
Restrained Drying Large sized tiles are used for drying which are later cut
into smaller required ones. Hot Air is blown over the tiles to absorb moisture from the tiles
Salient Features
Wire-mesh is used to hold the tiles Heating Coils are used to heat the air
Fan is used to blow the air over the tiles with high
velocity so as to increase the convective heat transfer co-efficient The hot air which absorbs the moisture is recirculated

along with the wired mesh Uniform load distribution is obtained by using corrugated sheets, while allowing air flow over the tiles Thus the possible problem of bending of mesh in the previous case is avoided The rate of drying is slightly lesser than the previous method
Corrugated Sheet
End Result
Thus here warping can be prevented by restraining the
surfaces of the tiles. Improved method of drying Lesser time per tile Cost of drying increases compared to the current method of drying Improved rate of production as large tiles are used and a no. of them can be stacked at a time.
Assumptions
Here we are assuming the temperature of the hot air
over the tiles as constant We are ignoring the heat losses due the conduction and convection in the wire-meshes Surface Temperature is assumed to be constant
