Course expectations

Guidelines for English grammar and composition online course. Interacting with classmates in online discussion posts: All students are encouraged to participate in the discussion forums by asking and answering questions and providing feedback. Be friendly and considerate when talking to your fellow students. Treat others in a polite and respectful manner. Avoid use of ALL CAPS. It tends to make us think you're shouting. Use up-votes to bring attention to thoughtful, helpful posts. Don't post spam to the discussion boards including links unrelated to course content.

Interacting with the instructor: This course offers students an opportunity to participate in "Office Hours," where you can submit questions for the instructor. The virtual Office Hours will be from 7 AM to 6 PM CST. Questions and comments for the instructor should be posted in the instructor's forum. This is the forum that the instructor will check most frequently for questions and conversation related to the material covered within the course. It is reserved for questions about course subject matter only. Also, you can contact the instructor through the email address (englishgrammar@example.com), Facebook account (englishgrammaronline@facebook.com), posting in the instructors forum, etc. Before posting questions on the instructors forum, be sure to read through the discussions and make sure your question hasn't been asked and answered. Interacting during live sessions: Class participation is a very important part of the learning process in this course. Offer a different and unique, but relevant, perspective about the topic of the day. Contribute to moving the discussion and analysis forward.

Be respectful of others who may have different opinions. When presenting an alternate viewpoint, be sure to acknowledge what the other person has said.

What you should expect from the instructor: I will try to respond to questions within 24 hours M-F. Announcements will be posted each week or every time it is necessary during the week. I will be monitoring forums, discussion boards, email, etc. for solving questions and guide you. Each assignment submitted by the due date will receive a grade and feedback from the instructor within 4 working days.
