I.DescriptionoftheProblem St.AndrewsCenterislowonfundstospendontheirafterschoolprogram.Asanorganizationtheyare opentosolutionstothislackofcapital.Thisproposedsolutionwouldcontributeasignificantamountto helpthecenterbringtogetherthecommunityinaculturallyattractiveeventforallages.Itwouldalso givethecommunityachancetominglewiththecenterandbringeveryoneintheareatogetherfora coupledaysofsoccerandfun.Thiscommunityneedstobebroughttogetherandwithlowincome typicallyitcanbeachallenge.Thisaffordableoptionwoulddonothingbutgeneraterevenue. II.SummaryoftheProposedSolution St.AndrewsisaestablishmentintheHighlandParkareathattailorstolowerclass/middleclassincome onaveragethatisprevalentinthearea(CityData).Wehaveaplantogainrevenueforthecenter,all whilebringingthecommunitytogetherinaseriesofevents.Weplannedtoorganizeasoccertournament foradults.Adultswiththeirbusyschedulesdontreallyhavethetimetoplaysocceronaregularbasis sothistournamentwillgivethemtheopportunityplaythewonderfulsportofsoccer.Alsomygroup believesthatadultswillbeabletodonatethemostmoney. WeplantousetheadjacentFutsalsoccerfields,pavilion,andtherearparkinglotoftheSt.Andrews Centerareaduringourevent.ThesefieldsareacrossUnionAvefromtheSt.AndrewsCenter.Wewill makeflyersandchargeminimumdonationof$30perplayertoenterthetournamentitselfandthatfee wouldincludeaeventtshirt.Theteamswillconsistof8players,6whowillbeonthefieldand2 alternateplayersthatcanbeusedassubsthroughoutthegame.Theeventwouldbeadvertisedtolocal businessesaswellasthegeneralpublic.Thiswillallowcompaniestobeinvolvedandenterteamsas theywish.Children3andyoungerenterfreeofchargeandanyotherspectatorswillbechargeda$2 dollarfeeuponentrytothetournamentarea.Additionally,weplantoprovidetshirtsasevent merchandisetosellaswell.Therewillbeablowupbouncehousefortheentertainmentofchildren, whileattheevent.AllproceedswillgostraightbacktotheSt.AndrewsCenter,tohelpfundtheir futureplansfortheafterschoolprogramsorhoweverelsetheyseefittoallocatethem.

III.DetailedBusinessPlanandBudget Wehavechosenthethemeofasoccertournament.Ofthe5.5%Latinopopulationin Chattanooga,Tennessee,amajorityofthepercentagearefromGuatemala,PuertoRico,Cuba, andMexico.Ofthispercentage,alargeconcentrationofthispopulationiscenteredinthe HighlandParkarea,amongsttheotherracesthatconstituteHighlandPark(CityData).Allof whichconsidersoccertoisthemostpopularsportnationally(CensusBureau).Wefeellikea soccertournamentwouldinterestalotoflocalstocomeoutandsupportthiscause,because socceristhemostpopularsportintheworld(statsticbrain.com).Basedonthepopularityofthe tournamentthiscouldeasilybeturnedintoanannualeventforthecenterandthesurrounding areatoparticipatein.ThesoccertournamentwillbeonApril19,2014whichisaSaturday.

IV.Evaluation Thesuccessofourfundraiserwillbemeasuredbytheprofitgainedafterpayingoffallofourcoststo rentthefacilities,advertising,andthecostofthetshirts.Also,thenumberofparticipantswecan accumulatefromtheChattanoogaareaisanotherwaytoshowthesuccessofthefundraiser.Wewould chargea$2dollarentryintotheeventtoanyonethatisabovetheageof3.Alsotoplayinthe tournamentitwouldbea$30fee,thiswillincludethetshirt.Inordertobreakeven,wewouldhaveto have9teamsenterintothetournament.Thisnumberdoesnotincludetherevenuethatwouldbe broughtinbythegeneralpublicpayingtoentertheevent.

Thiswouldclearouroverhead,andanyadditionalguestsorteamswouldbeprofit.Thecriteriafora successfuleventwouldbetoraiseenoughmoneytogivebacktothecenterandhavecommunity involvement..Thestartupoftheeventwascalculatedtobe$2471.73.Iftheprogramwassuccessfulits firstyear,itwoulddefinitelybeabletobeanannualeventthecentercouldputon,andhopefullythe eventwouldjustgrowinpopularityeachyear.
