1---------------------------------------------------------------1 The followinq details major mainframe systems.
The followinq status codes apply to the data:
P = Available to the Public. R = Available to the Public with restrictions, e.q., EIN and SSN data will be claimed as exempt from disclosure under FOIL. S = Tax Secret and not available to the Public.
It is important to note that the Department of Finance computer
systems are currently in transition from systems developed over the last 15 - 20 years to a centralized fully inteqrated FAIRTAX system. Because the new systems will be fully inteqrated they will, in qeneral, contain data that is both tax secret and available to the public. For example, the current systems contain separate names and address for each tax (i.e. Unincorporated Business Tax (UBT) and property Tax). currently, UBT data is Tax Secret and property tax data is available to the Public. In the new FAIRTAX system there will be only one name and address "file" or data base havinq both UBT and Property Tax Names and Addresses. This database will receive a "R" status code. The restriction will relate to public access to UBT names. Property names will remain available to the public.
