Asaph Rangel ESLR: Academic Achiever Artifact #3 Greatest Written Achievement I chose my self-ethnography project as my artifact for the

academic achiever ESLR because I believe that it is a fair representation of my academic skill. I started and completed this project under very lenient circumstances because the time limit was very long. The selfethnography project was meant to discover or reveal something personal and deep in order to better understand that personal aspect. This self-ethnography is very significant to me because it is the longest written piece of literature I have created so far. Its significance is also expressed by the discovery of my past self and how I am now when compared to the past. The self-ethnography project best represents my greatest learning experience because it has shown me the importance of literature. It does this by allowing me to see my past self, the part of me that I have long forgotten. The self-ethnography project basically explains how I used to be, what is important to me, why some things are important to me, and how I became the Asaph of the present time. This project also explains my writing capabilities and how well they are used to craft a personal, yet academic piece of literature. I strongly believe that my selfethnography will have an emotional impact because of its personal content. My artifact shows that I am an academic achiever by revealing the fact that I started and finished it individually, but worked with others to improve it. Because my artifact was based on memories, personal documents and pictures, and family members, it shows my ability to assess, interpret, and apply information gained through various methods. It was required of me to possess the abilities to write constructively, effectively, and clearly in order for the readers to understand it. I occasionally faced frustration from not finding the proper words to describe

something complex. Although, my frustration was also fed by the neverending amount of words required to fully complete the project. This artifact has an academic significance to me because of its language, diction, and structure. It also has a personal importance to me due to its length (both the amount of pages used and the amount of words written). I plan to apply this artifact into my overall life by demonstrating the behavior I have possessed as a child, as well as how I came to the conclusion of my current behavior. In addition, I also plan to apply this artifact into other future assignments that might require me to write about a personal experience relating to my current persona. Overall, this artifact is important and relevant to my future because it reminds me of my past.
