Introduction

Born on 30th September 1951 in Mumbai. Studied at the Pune Engineering College.

Nandlal Dhoot, his father, was the founder of Videocon Corporation and other businesses ventures such as Videocon Electronics. In 1955, Dhoot's father laid the group's foundation by starting
a sugar mill.

In the early 1980s, Nandlal Dhoot tied up with Japan's Toshiba Corporation. In 1993, his father died at the age of 61.

Younger brother Rajkumar Dhoot is a member or Parliament in Rajya Sabha


Today at the age of 61 he is the face of the group and serves as the Chairman and the Managing Director of the Videocon Industries Ltd.

According to Forbes Magazine, his wealth in 2013 is $1.25 billion. He is said to be the thirty eighth richest man in India.

His biggest proud moment was when Prime Minister Manmohan Singh called Videocon the proud face of Global India.
