Was the student able to provide a written description of what their pot would be used for in Greek culture? Can the student apply what they have learned about Greek culture or government and sketch it on their pot? We will not be assessing artistic ability, but rather the application of learned knowledge. Social Studies Standards Standard 6: Students analyze the geographic, political, economic, religious, and social structures of the early civilizations of Ancient Greece. **Each student will likely have a different connection to Greek history. The assessment will be if they included one aspect of ancient Greek geography, politics, economy, religion, or social activity. Visual Arts Standards Standard #4: Students will demonstrate understanding of the visual arts in relation to history and cultures. *Each student will be assessed on whether or not they included a connection to ancient Greek history and culture in their pottery. Standard #6: Students will make connections between visual art and other disciplines. *Each student will be assessed on if they completed a finished sketch of a Greek pot. This art will have a connection to social studies because they will be decorating their art with aspects from ancient Greece.
