Although we have never met, I share your grief with Mr. Gatsbys death. I heard about his tremendous parties and his castle he had bought on West Egg. I was devastated to hear of his passing and extend my deepest sympathies. Gatsby was truly an inspiration for me as I found out about his story. How from humble beginnings, he rose up to become a one of the richest men in New York. I envy your friendship you had with him. I heard he was the most hopeful person one would ever meet. There is a story of love and a broken heart, something the papers had left out entirely. You see Gatsby felt wed to Daisy. He once told me he had to keep climbing but only if he could climb alone. It was dangerous for a man like him to fall in love. The last thing I said to him was, Theyre a rotten crowd. Youre worth the whole damn bunch put together. Ive always been glad I said that.
