Discussion-Debate Lesson Plan 2 Strengths of this lesson plan are the examples for helping students understand what

probability really is. The teachers asks the students to come up with an examples of what probability to make students critically think, but there are also in-depth examples of what probability is and how students will know when they are dealing with it. A weakness of this lesson plan is that the discussion questions are used after the lesson is over. The discussion questions should have been incorporated in the lesson. This would have helped with the association of probability. The lesson plan associated with the models we were introduced to in class are similar in the way that students are presented the topic and given examples. However, like I have stated before the questions should have been incorporated into the lesson. The teacher put his or her own twist on the lesson by choosing a topic that is not usually used as a debate. If this were to be a lesson I would do in the classroom then I would have presented one example of what probability looks like and then let the students choose if they agreed or disagreed. I would also throw in higher-order thinking scenarios so that students would have to really argue their side of what is probability and what is not.
