Changes were made to Syllabus Schedule (It's on Moode) for the remaining of the semester we are going to begin working on our project

On Sept 18: In-class inquiry Activity On Sept 23: Topic Change; Analyzing our research Week Seven: We are going to conference on our research schedule

Today's Journal: What does your quote allow us to understand about the identity of an alcoholic within AA? #8- page 68: "These identities affect how a person acts in the world. If a drinker does accept the label...is a major component of Alcoholics Anonymous"---That whole passage What does your quote allow us to understand about identity construction and performance? Function of story: hitting rock-bottom in order to see a new perspective/ Importance of a change for people who "want" to change Gain a new perspective of what is an appropriate level of drinking How alcoholic leads to new problems and if it becomes "relevant" (in relationships) then it mostly likely leads to a problem affecting your own identity.-----leads to markers to define alcoholics Members of AA undergo a shift upon entering the program; introduces a reintroduction of prior self and shows a broad scope of their identity from a "normal drinker" to an "alcoholic"

Construction: Examples) Make friends, joining a group, choice (Making daily decisions leads a construction of your own identity)

Performances: Role in society

We as a class then examined the appropriate levels of drinking and social acts at: (1) College party (2) Tailgating (3) At a bar business meeting/ {we all had fun with this part} There is more leeway at a college party then at a business meeting

Inquiry Project: (you need to pickup two sheets- Extended Inquiry Project and Reserach Proposal Assignment)
