Child Abuse Solution An editorial by Jennifer Urbina In the United States child abuse has become a common social

issue, which create an important warning into the different communities that people belong to. It can be approached from the education point of view or the different lifestyles that subsist. Even though there exist childrens rights which are freedoms and entitlements afforded to individuals classifies as minors given by the Law passed in 1974. This legislation passed with regard to the establishment of a system reflecting fair, ethical, and legal treatment of children. According to Childhelp statistics from about the 3.5 million yearly reports of child abuse. The graph shows that the number of children who have died from maltreatment and how it started growing over the years until the 2011. Meaning that local child protective services or law enforcement agency is not taking charges over child abuse. Given to the fact that Every day more than four children die as a result of child abuse. (Childhelp, 2013) While numerous cases remain unreported for the lack of information to the American people. The percentages about who decide to report child abuse vary but they are usually made from teachers, law enforcement, or social providers with an estimated 60%, while

anonymous, other relatives to the child, parents, neighbors or friends make up the rest of the percentage with a 40 %. It is sad to know about those couples who dream to have a family, but for any reason they do not have one. On the other hand, those who actually are considered blessed to have a family do not know to appreciate it. Preventive pregnancies campaigns should be more encouraged, in order to avoid those unwanted pregnancies. The main reason is because many of these women or men who abuse children known as the perpetrator comes from the moment that the perpetrator never really wanted the child for the lack of economy, single mother or father, early pregnancy or any other excuse that the parents may have. After the unwanted child is born the perpetrator try to avenge their frustrations on their child who is completely innocent. A positive alternative might be to give the child up for adoption to avoid engaging in child abuse. After the child starts attending to school teachers and the authority should go to the school to aware the children about the rights that protect them as underage citizens, in order to make the child alert about any type of violence against them. Thereby the children may know who to recur if they feel that their rights have not been taken seriously, without missing any little detail about the aggression towards the child. In order, to make the authority investigate their case before the last consequences are appear probably clearer than anyone would like to see. Amend laws to punish more severely the perpetrator, so if they decide to involve personal problems with maltreatment against the child the perpetrator feel more concerned

about the possible consequences as extending the period of time that the perpetrators get to stay in prison having following consequences as being harder to find an employment. As a result, to intervene in child abuse is necessary to start from the education and promote prevention programs to people from different ages, cultures, or races. As part of the prevention refer specially to the younger generations who are about to start living their sexual lives in order to prevent unwanted children and stop the child abuse cycle.
