ANTICIPATORY SET:
Begin by asking students to identify different parts of a turkey. (Feathers, beak, legs, feet, etc.)
I will then pass out the paper bags and newspaper and tell the students that the bag will be the turkeys body.

PROCEDURES:
I will ask each student to think about how old they are. I will then tell them to take the number of feathers to
match how old they are. Students will be sent back in groups to gather their feathers and then glue them onto the
turkeys body.
I will pass out the remaining items to be glued on, body and head, and we will put them on the paper bag.
Students will then pick their favorite color out of the construction paper provided and cut out and attach their
beak.
Before attaching the turkeys legs they will have to decide if they are staying in town or leaving town for their
Thanksgiving celebration. If they are leaving they fold the turkeys legs (accordion style) if they are staying in
town they will not fold the legs.
Once the turkeys are put together we will complete our data sheets.
Add additional pages as needed.

CLOSURE:
Once data sheets are completed we will compare the students answers.
