5 3 September 2013 The Universal Declaration of Independent Human Rights The world has been formed by the power of the Almighty and so has all of His creation. God formed a very special creature that He named humanity and has also given His greatest creation the right and power to rule over His dominion on earth. We as people though must find our way as kings and queens of the universe. In both, The Unanimous Declaration of the Thirteen United States of America and The Universal Declaration of Human Rights some of the greatest minds and men in this world have outlined our role and rights as humans to help us understand our role as great men and women in order to help better ourselves as a species. To assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Natures God entitle them (Jefferson, 1). The Unanimous Declaration of the Thirteen United States of America and The Universal Declaration of Human Rights both contain multiple similarities, three of which stand out the most. Both documents describe their view on how human dignity is a God given right that is extremely important in distinguishing humans from animals and that nobody has the right to take this power away from anyone. Whereas recognition of the inherent dignity and of the equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family is the foundation of freedom, justice, and peace in the world (U.N., Pg. 1). All people were born with a very special gift that has separated us from the rest of Gods creation, human dignity. Humans also have unalienable rights that have been endowed upon us a species in order to live fruitful lives and continue to

help build up the world that God has given us. That they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights; that among are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness (Jefferson, 1). Men are meant to uphold these rights and make life worth living by conveying these rights to the fullest of their abilities. Every man and woman should stand united together to hold these rights true and live in closeness with one another. A house divided cannot stand (Lincoln), so how can a world divided strive to the best that it could possibly. The Unanimous Declaration of the Thirteen United States of America and The Universal Declaration of Human Rights holds differences as well in which three points also stand out the most in both documentaries. Everyone is entitled to all rights and freedom set forth in this Declaration, without distinction of any kind (U.N., 1). The Universal Declaration of Human Rights chooses to call all people equal no matter who the man, woman or child is while the Unanimous Declaration of the Thirteen United States of America chooses only to say that all men are created equal. Only men are identified as being equal in the specific document, not women. The document also does not acknowledge the equality of African Americans due to the fact that during the time the African Americans were seen as property. As time changed so did the view of race though it was very gradual and became a source of violence for many centuries. Racism is slowly being destroyed completely thanks to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which debases the boundaries of the color of ones skin. The final difference is that the Unanimous Declaration of the Thirteen United States of American is centered on America becoming independent from Great Britains grasp while the Universal Declaration of Human Rights states that the world shall stand united. When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another (Jefferson, 1). America is a letter to the King of Great Britain in order to separate from the nation and become an independent nation. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights is a document written by the United Nations in order to bring the nations of the world together in an effort to have world peace. Both documents have shaped the earth in different ways but also as a united nation that can do wonders if the world can agree as a community. The documents were meant for different people but have gained the attention of the world. Humanity as a whole has a God given right to become the greatest part of His creation, to rule over His dominion with dignity and equality.
