Customer Issues: When the Imperial Wok Restaurant had the opportunity to move from its strip mall location of 22 years into a new stand alone building, owners Chee and Shirley Cheng knew they had to do it right. The new restaurant should become more than just a location upgrade; it would be a new experience including more food offerings, fresher dcor and state of the art architectural features including some of the newest, most attractive and most energy efficient lighting technologies available. Cheng turned to Herschman Architects. Lighting Solution: One of the Chengs key requirements was to make the dining room as comfortable as possible, in regards to pleasing light quality and temperature. So the Chengs turned to Energy Focus Inc. for their new LED TrackLights. With only 15 Watts energy consumption compared to 50 Watts used by traditional technologies, the units produce a beautiful white light without heat and have a rated life of 50,000 hours. That means lights will not turn off in the middle of dinner service and maintenance costs can be significantly reduced. Further, the Chengs wanted the new sushi bar to stand out, but the fresh ingredients are very sensitive to heat and UV, which is why they chose the same LED TrackLights from Energy Focus Inc. Last but not least the TrackLights were used to highlight the beautiful traditional Eastern artwork and water features throughout the restaurant.
