Introduction
The purpose of this report is to first make you aware of how we have been misled regarding diets, calories, exercise, and our trusted (American) Healthcare System. If you are reading this book, youve probably discovered that fat-loss pills, crash diets, fasting, endless cardio exercising, and infommercial fad solutions are ineffective, outdated, and pretty much a waste of time and energy. Many things have changed over the last century. We have overfarmed our soils, genetically modified our foods and raised livestock on hormones and antibiotics. Today 80% of our processed foods did not exist 25 years ago! The foods we now consume are nutritionally depleted and heavily processed. We have become dependent on prescription drugs to treat our illnesses, and at times one drug will introduce another symptom that requires yet another prescription! Over the last century we have been exposed to more than 100,000 new chemicals in our environment and our consumer products. These are just some of the many examples contributing to the evolution of our failing state of health. This report is the first of a three-part series: (1) - Diet, Calorie, Exercise and Healthcare Misconceptions. We have been misled by people weve trusted for far too long. (2) - Toxic World, Toxic Body. Find out the ways we are now exposed to more toxic chemicals than ever before, and they are having dangerous effects on our bodies. (3) - Nutritional Tune-up. There is a safe, natural, and proven solution to achieving optimum health. I hope you are able to read all three reports and increase your awareness of what we are all up against, what the effects are to your body, what proven solutions exist for eating and exercise, and how you can clean your body inside and out to reach your optimum health. Kent Zilliox

Why Traditional Diets Are Failing Us

Diets are not successful for long-term weight loss because they dont address the need to cleanse the body of impurities. Our organs are working overtime trying to filter many toxins from our bodies. As a result, our systems only other defense is to create fat cells to enfold and store these unwanted toxins and impurities. (Ill get into more details on our toxin exposure and what you can do about it in the next report, Toxic World, Toxic Body) A CNN poll stated that 180 million Americans are overweight, and 30% of those are obese. There are over a million people in the United States who weigh over 500 pounds. According to the Learning Channel, this last number may actually be closer to two million! So you can see that we most definitely have a problem in an epidemic proportion, and the solutions that may have worked for some a hundred years ago dont work anymore. Fighting the Fat: When it comes to health and weight loss, it is important to know the types of fat you are dealing with. There are three main types: subcutaneous fat, retroperitoneal fat, and visceral fat. All three are associated with the abdomen area. Thigh fat and buttocks fat are also types of fat that can affect your health. Each of these types of fat can be targeted to obtain a weight-loss goal. Subcutaneous Fat: Subcutaneous fat is stored underneath the skin and above the muscle tissue and is stored throughout the body. Heavier concentrations of this type of fat are situated around the abdomen. Without an exercise regimen this type of fat can be stubborn to get under control. Retroperitoneal Fat: Retroperitoneal fat is stored along the back of the abdominal cavity and covers the viscera. Retroperitoneal fat is the most metabolically active fat in the body and is very accessible in the process of breaking down lipids to release free fatty acids, which in turn releases stored toxins. Visceral Fat: The toxins in our body are stored in fat cells, primarily in visceral fat (organ fat). Thus, visceral fat has been interlinked to several chronic conditions such as obesity, metabolic dysfunction, diabetes, and heart disease.

Fat Shapes the Body: According to Dr. Marie Savard, author of Apples & Pears: The Body Shape Solution to Weight Loss and Wellness, there are two types of body shapes when it comes to fat. The type of fat a person carries determines her health risks. Visceral fat, found in apple shaped bodies, surrounds the abdominal organs. Subcutaneous fat is found under the skin. Apple-Shape Risks: The apple-shaped body carries more fat above the belt line, has very little waist definition, and often has a full chest and thin legs. According to the Mayo Clinic, those with appleshaped bodies have a greater risk of heart disease, breast cancer, diabetes, gall-bladder problems, high blood pressure, and colorectal cancer. Pear-Shape Risks: A pear-shaped body carries more fat below the belt line and has a defined waist. The pear may have a thin upper body and full hips. Pearshaped individuals are more likely to have osteoporosis, varicose veins, menopausal symptoms, and blood clots. According to the American Heart Association, women who are pear shaped have a higher risk of life-threatening blood clots. For men the opposite is true: the apple shape carries more risk. Up until now, people would do some form of traditional diet that involved counting calories, decreasing food intake, or even fasting. In recent times our pill-equals-cure mentally has us looking for the newest magic pill or capsule for a quick and easy fix. At the time of this writing, the famous Doctor Oz is promoting a money-making magic pill to help millions of desperate overweight people lose weight. What these attempts all fail to do is give the body what it truly needs: nutrients. Look at the chart below; it speaks volumes. What do you think happens after fat is burned and the toxic impurities are released into the body? Do you think a pill, or less food or empty calories, will give the bodys 130 trillion cells the 90 essential nutrients it needs and is already lacking? I think not!

The Key to Weight -Loss Success

I hate to admit it bu,t like most other people looking to lose the pounds, I once fell for a fat-burning capsule after trying numerous diets. Then I found out about nutritional cleansing and replenishing, which is not a diet but has helped hundreds of thousands of people eliminate toxins from their body, lose weight, and, more importantly, maintain and keep the weight offwith no rebound! Lose the toxins and say goodbye to the fat: In my third and final report Nutritional Tune-up I will educate you on how to assist your body in getting rid of the hazardous chemicals and environmental toxins (exotoxins) and toxins produced by our body (endotoxins). Continuous exposure to these toxins can trigger adverse health reactions such as fatigue, chronic disorders, and obesity. These debilitating effects of toxins can be prevented through a detoxification (cleansing) process.

Three keys to detoxification and creating a healthy, lean body: - First, you have to assist your body in getting rid of the toxic impurities in its system while at
the same time not depleting it of the nutrients it needs. This is...nutritional cleansing. -

Second, you have to supply your body with massive amounts of nutrition but not massive
numbers of calories. This is...nutritional replenishing.

Third, you must assist your body in getting rid of the toxic impurities that it has been storing
in fat it has created to protect itself and in turn give it the nutrients it needs. This is...achievement and maintenance of optimum health!

This solution is simple, and proven and has been used for many years. Better yet, it is totally natural, as it does not include any drugs, laxatives, or diuretics. Its not combined with a heavy-duty exercise program, nor surgery or a magic herbal pill. Its not at all like a traditional diet, but it is about what you put into your body that will assist in nutritionally cleansing and replenishing on a cellular level. I will go over this in detail in the third report of this series: Nutritional Tune-up.

So now we have nutritionally bankrupt food dumped into a dirty body with really low absorption. What do we do? We shop down aisles of boxes, cans and vacuum-sealed foods. We eat continuously, yet we are never full. More calories dont fill us up. Twinkies or Doritos or Lays potato chips dont fill us up. The body is not hungry for calories; its hungry for nutrition. And when it absorbs nutrients at a level it needs, its not hungry for four, five, or six hours.--Peter Greenlaw

The Counting-Calorie Myth

Whenever anyone goes on a diet, it usually includes some form of caloric restriction or calorie counting. But do you know the definition of a calorie? A calorie is simply a unit of measure. It is the amount of heat required to raise one gram of water one degree centigrade. Your body cannot count calories. So when you eat a Twinkie, an apple, or a protein bar, the calories dont matter. The only thing your body actually cares about is nutrition. We need superior nutrition if were going to enable the body to do its best job dealing with our toxic load. The number of calories we consume is not as important as the choice of foods we are eating. What has changed dramatically over the past century is that our overfarmed soils have become depleted of minerals and nutrients. Foods have become over processed, filled with artificial colors and flavorings, and packaged with preservatives, fillers, and other chemicals. Clearly, the calories we are consuming are not the same as they used to be; they now have little to no nutrient value and are full of chemicals. So, if the problem with traditional diets is that the calories we are eating are nutritionally bankrupt, and then we focus on reducing calories, we receive even less nutrition. What the body needs is not less food but food that is dense in nutrition. We can look at the analogy of atomic energy. Einstein showed us that, when the atom is compressed and compressed, it creates an enormous amount of power. So food that has very few calories but is packed in massive doses of nutrition can create the equivalent energy for the human body. Again, what matters is not the number of calories we ingest but whats in those calories. What the body needs to combat the toxic load it carries is nutrients--dense nutrients. Dense nutrients help fire up our systems to allow us to burn some of the fats in which toxins are stored. Thus the body begins naturally to purge itself of some of this bad stuff we have accumulated.

Obesogens--Not to Be Ignored
The term obesogen was first coined in 2002 and has been cited in over 20 peer-reviewed articles in the following ten years. The American Society of Endocrinologists has found that Endocrine Disrupting Chemicals (EDCs), or obesogens, are disrupting the function of our hormonal system, causing obesity and many diseases we suffer from.

Obesogens enter our bodies from a variety of sources:--From natural compounds found in soy and produce sprayed with pesticides. From artificial hormones injected in or fed to farm animals. From plastic pollutants in some food packaging, plastic water bottles, heated plastic food trays or containers, and even shower curtains. From fire-retardant carpets, drapes, or sofas and the interior of a newly purchased car. From personal care products such as shaving creams, colognes, lotions, shampoo, and hair gel. The list goes on! Obesogens disrupt hormone balance:--And dont think that because you maintain a healthy body weight, this doesnt apply to you. Obesogens act in a variety of ways to mimic human hormones such as estrogen and block the action of other hormones, such as testosterone. They also alter the function of our genes and essentially program us to gain weight. They are endocrine disruptors and are the same chemicals that contribute to hormone issues such polycystic ovarian syndrome, amenorrhea, low testosterone, infertility, certain cancers, and increased perimenopausal and menopausal symptoms.

The following are four truths as found in the Journal of Andrology:

- Obesogens are chemicals that directly or indirectly lead to increased fat accumulation and obesity. - Obesogens have the potential to disrupt multiple metabolic signaling pathways in the developing organism that can result in permanent changes in adult physiology. - Prenatal or perinatal exposure to obesogenic endocrine disrupting chemicals has been shown to predispose an organism to store more fat from the beginning of its life. - Humans exposed to obesogenic chemicals during sensitive windows of development might be preprogrammed to store increased amounts of fat, resulting in a lifelong struggle to maintain a healthy weight and exacerbating the deleterious effects of poor diet and inadequate exercise.

The role of obesogens in obesity has garnered increased attention over the past ten years. It has been acknowledged by the Presidential Task Force on Childhood Obesity and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Strategic Plan for Obesity Research. Kristina Thayer, Director of the Office of Health Assessment and Translation at the National Toxicology Program (NTP) said, There are many studies in both humans and animals. The NTP found real biological plausibility. In 2011 the NIH launched a 3-year effort to fund research exploring the role of environmental chemical exposures in obesity, Type 2 diabetes mellitus, and metabolic syndrome. Many in the medical and exercise communities remain convinced that poor diet and lack of exercise are the sole causes of obesity. Yet, researchers are continually gathering convincing evidence that obesogens are altering metabolic processes and causing weight gain. So assisting the body in cleansing out its toxic overload may be more important than the evolving dieting and exercising we have been failing at.

Our Metabolic Rate Is Going Down

Mark Schauss, in his book Achieving Victory over a Toxic World, says, In animal studies, theres an observation that when a laboratory rat is exposed to toxins, its metabolic rate drops and its internal temperature goes down as well. Guess what? The pattern fits. A few years ago, the American Medical Association debated whether to drop the average healthy body temperature of patients from 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit to 98 degrees--not because it was healthier to be lower, but because fewer and fewer people were coming into doctors offices with the higher temperature! So instead of trying to figure out why this was happening, they just decided to move the norm down! Schauss goes on to say, From observations that Ive seen and results in urinary or in organic acid tests, I believe that toxins ranging from heavy metals to petrochemical solvents actually block the entry point into the Krebs Cycle. The weight-loss cycle known as the Krebs Cycle primarily stunts the ability of the body to produce energy from carbohydrates. This inhibition, I believe, causes a slowdown in the bodys resting metabolism. Schauss offers the following example: Suppose we ingest 2,500 calories daily and our activities burn up about 25% of the intake, or 625 of those calories. The remainder of the calories that need to be burnt equals 1,875. Normally a person would burn those last 1,875 calories while at rest. However, a toxic persons chemical load would impair that caloric burn by about 7%. Thats 131 calories that remain unburned and become stored in the body. In one year a staggering 47,815 calories would be left behind. Typically, if you burn 3,500 calories, youll lose one pound. Take those 47,815 calories and divide by 3,500 and you get 13.66 pounds of weight gain a year. After ten years youll have increased your body weight by 136.66 pounds and become officially obese. Thus the majority of the calories that we need to burn would have to be burned when were at rest. But, if were not exercising, whats going to influence calorie burning? Its our metabolism. And what happens when we lower our core temperature from 98.6 to 98? Our metabolism has slowed down. Many of us can recall starting to gain weight in our 20s or 30s. The increased presence of toxins in the human body is lowering our body temperature and our metabolism rate.

Exercise: Could Less Be More?

Exercise is of course good to strengthen muscles. It also can help, but is not essential, in losing weight or releasing toxins. There are trainers out there who will tell you that you can sweat out the toxins. This is far from the truth, because there are two types of toxins: water soluble and fat soluble. Some water soluble toxins can work their way back through the skin. Is this best for skin health? Of course not!

Although some toxins can be sweated out, the fat soluble toxins simply cannot. So, the long and hard sweating cardio workouts may not be doing all you think! The weight-loss industry has programmed everybody into thinking that they need to track how many calories they burn when doing cardio workouts. Cardio has its place and may work initially, before your body adapts and it loses its effectiveness. Studies prove that people who perform long bouts of cardio suffer from decreased thyroid function, release more of the stress hormone called cortisol, and increase their appetite, eating 100 or more calories than they burn off after performing cardio. Cardio can even overwork your heart. Other than that the exercise industry has gone soft. Toning classes, yoga, 5k races, Pilates, and core training are all healthy for you, but theyll never flatten your belly or, more importantly, release the hormones that burn off stubborn fat.

Lose Weight without Exercising Yourself to Death

Which do you think would be better: 30 minutes of nonstop hardcore cardio (pedaling an exercise bike or running on a treadmill) or four minutes of a combination of eight 20-second-interval exercises with ten seconds of rest in between?

Queens University tested interval workouts against long cardio training:

In a month-long study, 22 women did four workouts per week in groups. Group A did 30 minutes of treadmill running at 85% max heart-rate. GroupB did eight rounds of 20 seconds of a single exercise at high intensity (burpees, jumping jacks, mountain climbers, or squat thrusts) with ten seconds of rest between rounds. (four minute total workouts). Results: Both groups A and B increased their aerobic fitness levels by the SAME amount (about 7-8%). Thats right, the results of the short workouts were just as effective as 30 minutes of cardio! Only groupB, using the short high-intensity-style training, increased muscular endurance in common exercises like chest presses, leg extensions, sit-ups, and push-ups. The scientists concluded that extremely low volume body-weight interval-style training will boost cardiovascular fitness just as well as cardio while giving you improved muscle endurance. [Source: Appl. Physiol. Nutr. Metab., 2012, Sept., 20.] Other Cardio Workout Studies: In a three-month study, women did 45 minutes of cardio a day, five days a week, and lost no more weight than those who dieted alone! Seems like a waste of time, doesnt it! [Source: Utter, A.C., et al.,
Influence of diet and/or exercise on body composition and cardiorespiratory fitness in obese women. Int. J Sport Nutr., 1998, Sept., 8.]

In another study, subjects did 50 minutes of cardio, five days a week, and, once again, lost no more weight than those who dieted alone! [Source: Redman et al. Effect of calorie restriction with or without exercise on
body composition and fat distribution. J. Clin. Endocrinol Metab., 2007, Jan., 2.]

In a one-year study, subjects performed aerobic exercise for 60 minutes a day, six whopping days a week and lost only 3.5 pounds on average in an entire year! [Source: McTiernan et al., Exercise Effect on Weight
and Body Fat in Men and Women. Obesity, 2007, June 15.]

Other studies speak for themselves

After reviewing 305 controlled trials, researchers found NO detectable differences between exercise and medications for treating pre-diabetes and heart disease. Exercise was found to be more effective than drugs after a stroke. Drugs beat exercise only in the recovery from heart failure, in which case diuretic medicines produce a better outcome. Exercise is in fact so effective that, researchers suggest that drug companies be required to include it for comparison when conducting clinical trials for new drugs. High-intensity interval training, which requires only a fraction of the time that conventional cardio does, and, has been shown to be FAR more effective. Its also the only type of exercise that really gives you an efficient cardiovascular workout. It doesnt matter what your age, fitness level, or limitations may be. Unless you learn to apply proper interval intensity to your workouts, youll never see your body become leaner. It does require some consistency and effort, but you can do it in as little as 4 to 15 minutes with several combined short bursts (10 to 30 seconds) of sprinting, jumping, cycling, weight exercises, or even a on cardio machine, followed by a recovery period to let the heart rate come back down before repeating.

High-intensity bursts have the potential to increase your metabolic rate for 38 to 48 hours. During these short intervals the adrenal glands release unique hormones called catecholamines. They are part of the sympathetic nervous system and force the release of free fatty acids into the bloodstream. Catecholamines break apart stubborn body fat, ultimately causing it to be burned. Warning: Before beginning any such programs make sure youve conditioned yourself with Normal exercise on a consistent basis and been cleared by your doctor for higher-intensity exercise. Intensity levels are different for every person and are based on your current condition, age, gender, or other limitations. Gauge your intensity level and build up the intensity as you gain strength. Flushing out the released toxins: After a high-intensity interval workout, fatty acids and toxins will be released into the bloodstream. Because they can be re-stored as body fat again, it is crucial to drink a lot of water to assist in flushing out these fatty acids and impurities. Some form of cleansing, such as a daily cleanse is also recommended. In the third and final report of this series, Nutritional Tune-up youll learn about a unique nutritional system that assists the body in cleansing the toxins that are released when fat is burned during exercising.

Our Healthcare System Falls Way Short

Declining Health: It is estimated that within the next five years, one out of two Americans will eventually succumb to heart disease, and one out of three to cancer. Today one out of eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer, a 30% increase over the past 25 years! More than 85% of these cases are not genetically linked, they are a result of the toxic environment we live in. Medicine: Why, with all the so-called medical advancements of the past decades, do we continue to get sicker? Think about it: pharmaceuticals are a $650 billion a year industry in America, accounting for nearly 30% of the Gross National product (GNP). Doctor-prescribed drugs support an industry that out-earns the GNP of many nations. Big Pharma: Greed is keeping us sick and keeping doctors continually prescribing medications. How can you argue when the United States makes up only 4.6% of the worlds population but consumes 80% of its opioids (pain medications) and 99% of the worlds hydrocodone (or Vicodin). [Source: ABC World News.] Pharmaceutical advertising glamorizes and normalizes the use of prescription medication, shaping how both patients and doctors understand and relate to disease and treatment.

For years the most profitable companies in America have been the pharmaceutical corporations, which routinely top the annual fortune 500 list.

In 2012, the U.S. spent 17.9% of gross domestic product on healthcare, nearly one-fifth of every dollar! [Source: Worldbank.] Twenty of the fastest-growing professions in America are in the healthcare field, a number that has increased 34% since 1998. [Source: HealthCareerCenter.org.]

Doctors receive little or no education on nutrition; they are trained to prescribe drugs to treat but not cure our illnesses. Over-the-counter, prescription, and even recreational drugs are known to contain chemicals that can build up in your body over time. When was the last time you saw a doctor for a problem or symptom and were asked, What are you eating? So you need to ask yourself, What are the consequences of relying on a for-profit industry for our health and well-being?

America Cant Afford to Be Healthy

Healthcare is booming and fuels our economy. If Americans get healthier, then Big Pharma, drugstores, insurance companies, and doctors profits would shrink and people in those industries would lose jobs. For example, a patient with high cholesterol spends money to see a doctor; treatment includes prescription drugs, expensive lab tests, and the involvement of numerous hospital staff. If a medical professional gets the patient healthy by changing his or her diet to high fiber, low carbohydrates and saturated fats and even encourages regular exercise, it would cut down medical profits tremendously. So, instead, doctors find the symptom and write a prescription! The medical establishment works closely with the drug multinationals whose main objective is to make profits and whose worst nightmare is an epidemic of good health. Lots of drugs MUST be sold, and in order to achieve this anything goes--lies, fraud, kickbacks. Doctors are the principal salespeople of the drug companies, and many of them are rewarded with research grants, gifts, and lavish perks.

The Older You Get, the More of a Healthcare Victim You Become
Nursing homes in America are filled with frail, feeble residents suffering from dementia. But many of these patients do not have dementia at all. Their memory loss, confusion, and delirium are caused by prescription drugs! This situation is so common that there are even medical terms for it like "polypharmacy," which means ingestion of too many different drugs, and "iatrogenic illness," which referes to any illness caused by doctors. According to medical journals, polypharmacy and iatrogenic illness are rampant. Causes of falls in nursing homes are the side effects of medications. Many drugs can cause Parkinson's-like symptoms and "drug-induced parkinsonism is frequent." A study listed 22 different classes of drugs that can cause Alzheimer's-like symptoms. Heres a typical scenario: A relatively healthy person goes to the doctor for a checkup and is told his cholesterol or blood pressure is high. So he starts taking medication, which causes side effects. This leads his doctor to give him a second drug to treat those side effects. The second drug causes new side effects, so the doctor prescribes a third drug to treat the side effects of the second one! The person's health is spiraling downward, and he soon needs people to take care of him. And everyone chalks it up to "old age."

Food Is the Best MedicineBUT!

We have to give up the mindset that a pill will take care of us every time we get ill. The only way to get healthy is to take action and care for ourselves. We take care of our cars and household items but often fail to take care of our bodies. Cleansing the body of toxins, pharmaceuticals, and other impurities is like changing the oil and filters in our car. Putting in good clean nutrition is like a nutritional tune-upreplacing fluids with new high-grade options. Then exercising is like taking our car for a spin to get all the working parts functioning and moving. Pure vitamins, minerals, nutrition, and antioxidants are rare in food these days. The lack of healthy enzymes, fiber, and nutrients is due to overfarming, overprocessing of foods, and exposure to chemicals. Also foods may contain pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, GMOs, antibiotics, and hormones, among other unhealthy impurities. So how do we get clean, organic, safe, and healthy nutrition that provides the essential things we need to achieve optimum health that benefits us by boosting our immune system, increasing our energy, and giving us mental clarity, fat loss, and muscle gain? This will be the topic in the third and final report, Nutritional Tune-up

The second report: Toxic World, Toxic Body will heighten your awareness of your exposure to toxins and their effects on your body. Ill provide a yes/no questionnaire How Toxic Are You? whose purpose is to demonstrate how living a normal life can result in massive exposure to toxins. I will share with you ways you can combat external and internal toxins. Download a FREE copy at: www.ToxicWorldToxicBody.com

The final report: Nutritional Tune-Up illustrates how rare pure vitamins, minerals, nutrition, and antioxidants are in todays foods and how healthy enzymes, fiber, and nutrients can be acquired. Now its time to change course--to take accountability and control over your health and well-being and to find solutions that can assist your body to take out its garbage and flood it with dense nutrition to get you feeling amazing!
