Usado para todas as formas de treinar a leitura do idioma e sua gramtica, fazendo que o aluno tenha que refletir sobre os itens apresentados pelo Student Book, slides e teacher, treinando e testando seu aprendizado.

Listening Book constitudo por exerccios inspirados na Welcome page do Student book, um trecho do mesmo, e por propostas de treinamentos extras, com a inteno de treinar e reparar sons no idioma. Fluir a compreenso auditiva para comunicao eficiente. Na pgina inicial, leia o enunciado ao aluno, explique. Coloque o CD, 1 vez espere pausando frase a frase, depois coloque at a 3 vez e j corrija na lousa as respostas olhando no Answer key. Na pgina dois, leia perguntas e pea que todos participem da resposta, escreva algumas na lousa. O exerccio trs, leia para o aluno cada ponto e j pea que responda no momento aps a leitura, dai j escreva na lousa a resposta correta. Tire dvidas de vocabulrio, de gramtica e de interpretaes do texto, abra o Student book se for necessrio nmero de alunos com dvidas for grande. O exerccio quatro, idem exerccio trs. O exerccio cinco, j extra auditivo, retirado da internet, gratuitamente. Pedimos ao teacher que teste o link antes de aplicar essa parte na aula. Coloque o link auditivo e visual (Hetch Boards) 1 vez sem pausar, depois repita o procedimento at a 3 vez e j corrija na lousa as respostas olhando no Answer key. O exerccio oito free answer, o aluno deve ler sozinho e responder em sala mesmo, e deve ser corrigido em seguida. *H o Answer key de cada item no final deste skill book.

Introduo
Os alunos utilizaro de 3-5 pginas por aula, entre o Student Book (SB), WorkBook (WB), Grammar Book (GB) e Listening Book (LB). Cabe ao professor direciona-los nessa troca de livros. Cada aula acompanhada por slides que o professor utiliza como volante para dirigir a aula, mas pode, e deve-se usar exemplos e exerccios adicionais utilizando a lousa. Abaixo se encontram instrues gerais para lidar com cada tipo de pagina dos livros. Instrues mais especficas se encontram na descrio feita pgina por pgina em cada aula. Com anotaes que relembram o teacher das regras gramaticais e dicas de administrao de slides. O teacher dever sempre ler os slides destinado para aula para planejar o momento de apresentao do slide e estar preparado para usa-lo.

Reading/ Welcome Page


No SB: Utilizando o Slide como introduo (imagem inicial do chapter), pergunte ao aluno o que ele acha que o texto ir descrever. Geralmente essa a pgina 1 ou 1 e 2 do SB. Durante a leitura inicial importante que os alunos anotem a pronncia ao seguir o texto. Leia com os alunos o texto em voz alta enquanto eles acompanham. Depois solicite 2 voluntrios para lerem outra vez cada um representando um personagem se for um dialogo ou alternando pargrafos se for texto bsico. importante que os alunos entendam que se deve fazer uma leitura de interpretao, nunca traduzindo palavra por palavra.

Tire dvidas dos alunos no que tanger a vocabulrios e verbos e expresses. No WB: Geralmente iro verificar a compreenso da leitura do aluno atravs de perguntas ou exerccios de fill-in-the-blank, ao final da aula de introduo do captulo (que sempre apresentar a leitura e a pgina 1 ou 1 e 2 do WB) o aluno dever entender por completo o que leu, e como reproduzir uma situao similar com alternativos. As seguintes so normalmente Exercise Pages que testam a memorizao do novo vocabulrio ou e compreenso gramatical essas so denominadas Exercise Pages. No LB: Geralmente pginas 1-4, devero testar o listening skill do aluno, leia em voz alta as instrues e contedo das questes com os alunos, tire dvidas, e ento toque o udio. Este dever ser apresentado mais que uma vez. Primeiramente para compreenso geral, depois mais 2 para a execuo do exerccio e mais uma ou duas para a correo do mesmo. Este o momento do aluno refletir sobre a pronncia e interpretao da lngua estrangeira. Quanto aos vdeos a assistir o mesmo esperado. Fazer o mesmo procedimento com vdeos (geralmente paginas 3-4-5-6). Se o tempo permite siga a atividade com uma recriao da situao onde os alunos escrevem um script e falas simples e possam ensaiar, decorar e apresentar para o restante da turma em grupos. No GB: Geralmente estas Welcome Pages so as pginas 1 e 2 e tem grande correlao se no direta com o texto inicial do captulo, so usadas para a compreenso geral do texto, novo vocabulrio, expresses e tambm para retomar o que foi apresentado nos exerccios de listening e reading. As pginas de Reading no GB podem ser lidas individualmente ou em grupo para discusso e compreenso e se no for muito extensa, o teacher deve solicitar que o aluno reproduza algo parecido e troque com outro aluno para rever e corrigir. As seguintes pginas so normalmente Exercise Pages que testam a memorizao do novo vocabulrio ou compreenso gramatical que so denominadas Grammar ou exercise Pages.

Exercise/ Think and Write/ See and Learn Pages


Estas existem nos 4 livros e visam propor exerccios individuais para o aluno avaliar se entendeu a aula e contedo passado pelo teacher. No momento que estes exerccios so feitos o teacher deve ir de aluno em aluno para auxiliar e ter noo da compreenso geral da sala, tomando notas das dificuldades particulares e gerais. Dependendo do contedo que esta sendo administrado o teacher pode pedir que o aluno mesmo leia as instrues e complete a atividade. Mas se o contedo novo ou recente deve ser lido em voz alta com a classe toda, pelo teacher ou um aluno voluntrio e ento a classe discute em grupo a atividade a fazer. A no ser que o tempo no permitir os exerccios devero ser corrigidos em ou sala em grupo. Opes de correo: 1) Correo em voz alta pelo teacher utilizando a lousa. 2) Correo em voz alta por alunos voluntrios atravs da simples leitura das respostas. 3) Correo em dupla, onde os alunos trocam de livros e corrigem o do colega e podem tirar dvidas com o teacher. 3) Correo na lousa com vrios alunos, onde cada um coloca a resposta de um dos elementos do exerccio na lousa. (Estas opes devem ser usadas com variao para manter a dinmica da aula e motivar os alunos).

Focus/ See and Learn/ Grammar Page


Geralmente as pginas no Student Book que seguem a Reading Page. E tambm as primeiras pginas do Grammar Book. Estas pginas trazem vocabulrio e ou gramtica introdutiva para a aula e conceitos a serem abordados no captulo e Kit, proporcionando exemplos que coincidem com os slides, apresente a teoria com calma, dando o significado em portugus se necessrio ou atravs de gestos e encenaes, pode-se tambm fazer desenhos na lousa pra refletir a ideia, ou utilizar das imagens no slide para sinalizar o significado. Lembrando que a lngua portuguesa deve ser evitada o mximo possvel desde o comeo.

Estas pginas, como outras tendem ter um quadro de PAY ATTENTION, muito importante levar a ateno do aluno a estes quadros e dar exemplos de como a regra se aplica. No s a gramtica dessas paginas importante, mas tambm a pronncia destas frases essenciais precisam ser praticadas com repeties e alteraes, focando no word stress (a silaba tnica, exemplo= a palavra Coffee e December, ffee e cem so as slabas tnicas se qualquer outra slaba for enfatizada no sendo estas a pronncia esta incorreta) (das palavras e palavra mais enfatizadas nas frases = exemplo na frase Can you help me? As palavras Can e help so mais fortes stressed words), intonation (se a frase ascendente ou decrescente) e vowel sounds (que nem sempre so os mesmos em palavras diferentes, tal como Apple (ppul)-America (Uhmrica)-Ant (ent) : neste caso as trs palavras comeam com A mas cada um tem um som distinto, tambm so muito importantes neste passo.

Ask Your Friend Page


Estas pginas requerem que os alunos se comuniquem uns com os outros em ingls para completar e ou preencher a atividade, explique o task, e verifique que isto esta sendo feito da maneira correta e que o portugus no esta sendo usado como muleta. No caso que esta seja a pgina inicial da aula, haver um slide para reflexo de exemplos e modelos de como a Oral Activity pode ser iniciada.

See and Talk Page


Estas pginas devem ser completadas pelos alunos como uma atividade de writing inicialmente e ento corrigidas em voz alta em aula. Depois utilizada para a prtica da fala, de maneira que o aluno possa praticar em dupla ou grupo lendo o que escreveu , e eventualmente possa cobrir o que escreveu e fazer as falas sem l-las somente olhando para as figuras. Esse tipo de exerccio ajudar o aluno a relacionar o ingls diretamente com a foto, quebrando o sistema e pssimo costume de traduzir antes de falar.

Talk About Page


Estas pginas devem ser feitas em writing para o aluno ter uma base e se sentir seguro, aps correo deve ser utilizada como oral activity com variaes trocando duplas para prtica adicional e fixao do contedo apresentado.

Vocabulary Page
Esta pgina foca, apresenta e ou relembra o vocabulrio do captulo denotando as palavras que sero necessrias no prximo captulo. crucial que o aluno as aprenda na aula que esta pgina seja apresentada. Podendo dar exemplos, fazendo mimica, desenhando ou formando frases e conversas. Os Games tal como o Taboo, Stop, Hangman e Pictionary podem ser usados para a reteno deste contedo e dinmica da aula.

Accessory Page
Esta pgina foca em pontos de gramtica mais leve mas que so cruciais para a comunicao eficaz e correta. Estas devem ser tratadas da mesma maneira que a Focus/Grammar Page. E podem ser complementadas com exemplos e exerccios simples adicionais feitos pelo teacher na lousa. Tambm pode se solicitar a alunos mais confiantes para criar exerccios com os conceitos destas pginas e trocar um com o outro aps a reviso do teacher. Exemplo no Accessory Page de articles a-an o teacher e os alunos podem criar listas de 5 itens como ___book ___pencil ____ eraser_____etc... para outro aluno completar.

Conclusion Page
Estas pginas tendem resumir pontos importantes do captulo, esta a hora do teacher fazer bastante perguntas e dinmicas para verificar a compreenso do aluno. Aproveitar para fazer qualquer reviso do contedo e se assegurar do andamento da turma.

Games
Geralmente na aula 40 e as vezes em aulas no meio do semestre games sero sugeridos, estes devem ser utilizados para a dinmica e reviso do contedo o teacher tambm pode criar outros ou reusar os sugeridos em outros momentos onde o tempo permite ou a dificuldade encontrada. Gerando a oportunidade de competio em grupos para incentivar os alunos a estudarem e praticarem o que aprenderam. As instrues dos games estaro detalhadas na aula que sero usados, mas o teacher pode passar o olho adiante para aprend-los e t-los na manga como fechamento de aulas que andam mais rapidamente, assim usando os ltimos 10-20 minutos para este tipo de atividade. *Lesson SLIDES As pginas com (*) tero slides para auxlio de apresentao. O teacher deve utilizar o PowerPoint denominado para esta lesson. E sempre verificar e ler os slides antes da aula para ter facilidade com o manuseio dos mesmos durante a aula.

AULA 2 Page 4* (SB) Siga as instrues do Focus Page. Lembre-se: O Pronome YOU tanto plural como singular. O Pronome THEY masculino, feminino, misto, e tambm usado para coisas no humanas (livros, carros, lugares). O Possessive Adjective THEIR tambm masculino, feminino, misto e para qualquer coisa no humana (casas, bolas, prdios). O Pronome IT usado para qualquer coisa no humana no singular (cadeira, gato, escola). O Possessive Adjective YOUR usado somente quando o sujeito YOU (no se diz Your name is Ana, se a Ana no for com quem estou falando, deve-se usar HER sempre para o Possessive Adjective feminino e HIS sempre para o Possessive Pronoun masculino. Extra Practice Escreva nomes de pessoas na lousa e pea que o aluno identifique se o pronome seria HE-SHE-THEY-IT. Page 5* (SB) Siga as instrues do Focus Page. No esquea que... A introduo do alfabeto pode ser feita inicialmente s com a msica, informe os alunos que iro ouvir o ABC Song (found on google.com or youtube.com) que ditar todas as letras do alfabeto, em seguida toque a msica uma segunda vez e indique as letras no slide enquanto elas so cantadas. Siga com o exerccio de repetio em conjunto para praticar letra por letra. Na lousa voc pode sinalar a pronncia de cada letra em portugus como um auxlio inicial, e que alunos possam copiar nos NOTES. (Por exemplo A: ei , B: bi, C: ci, D: di,

E : ... e assim por diante). Quando o teacher sentir que os alunos esto conseguindo repetir as letras com uma boa pronncia e confiana, coloque a msica outra vez pedindo que eles cantem juntos. Separe a msica em partes at que o objetivo seja atingido. De agora em diante quando no souberem escrever uma palavra tero que solicitar que o teacher ou o amigo soletre em ingls perguntando How do you spell_____________? Em seguida pea que pratiquem em duplas o Spelling dos nomes dos amigos (Aqui o teacher pode retomar Whats your name?, e seguir com How do you spell it?). Extra activity: Solicite que os alunos numerem 1-5 linhas em seus NOTES , e escolha algumas siglas pequenas e soletre solicitando que os alunos as escrevam (Por exemplo: FBI, USA...). Repita cada uma de 2-3 vezes e depois passe as respostas na lousa. Se tiver tempo pergunte se algum aluno quer tentar , deixe que ele monte 2 siglas e anuncie para classe, enquanto os outros escrevem. Page 1, 2, 3 (GB) Lembre os alunos que podem usar as tabelas do SB para completar a atividade. Pea que eles evitem traduzir e sim relacionar sempre com o contexto e figuras para responder. Caminhe pela classe verificando a compreenso e respostas e tirando dvidas. NO FAA O EXERCCIO D DA PGINA 3 (prepositions sero apresentadas nas prximas aulas). AULA 3 Page 6*, 7 (SB) Siga as instrues da Focus Page. Page 4 (GB) D um exemplo escrevendo um pargrafo sobre voc mesmo na lousa, e solicite quais informaes os alunos devem relatar (idade , nome, dia favorito da semana, ms favorito etc...).

Os alunos devem redigir seus prprios textos podem trocar para ler uns dos outros e em seguida ser corrigido pelo teacher. Page 2 (WB) Os alunos devem tentar fazer o exerccio sem olhar no livro aps a prtica repetitiva efetuada com o slide e ajuda do teacher. Faa uma troca entre alunos dos livros para que um corrija a grafia do outro somente depois , e neste momento pode-se usar o livro como auxlio.

AULA 4 Page 8*, 9* (SB) Siga as instrues da Focus Page. Lembre-se: Enfatizar a diferena de TUESday e THURSday. Os dias da semana todos tem a primeira silaba como silaba tnica. As silabas tnicas nos meses variam ( January-June = primeira silaba , July = segunda, August = primeira, Semptember-December = a segunda) Birthday = dia do aniversrio Birthdate = data de nascimento Datas sempre = mm/dd/aaaa Page 3, 4 (WB) Estas pginas devero ser feitas aps o estudo completo, sem auxlio do SB. Os alunos podem trocar cadernos e corrigir uns dos outros no final da atividade e testar um ao outro. Extra activity- Como homework o teacher pode pedir que o aluno ache alguma musica que fale os dias da semana em ordem (existem varias, algumas acadmicas e outras populares).

Page 3 (GB) ex D Relembrando as preposies No utilize o auxlio do livro mas pode se dar mais exemplos para ser explicado. Pedindo tambm que alunos mais confiantes d exemplos. Spelling Game Para relembrar e retomar o contedo que foi aprendido no comeo, pea que cada aluno escreve 3 palavras que eles lembram exatamente a grafia. Um por vez eles devem ler as palavras soletrando letra por letra, nunca falando a palavra inteira. Pea que o aluno escreva na lousa as respostas para os outros corrigirem. Number Game Parecido com o Spelling Game o teacher comea dando um exemplo ditando 3 nmeros em que os alunos tero que redigir (exemplo 738 , os alunos devem escrever seven-hundred and thirty-eight). Depois outros alunos fazem o mesmo, passando as repostas na lousa para correo.

Fast Numbers Neste game a turma deve se separar em 2 grupos, o teacher pede um voluntrio de cada grupo. O teacher escreve um nmero no papel ( somente os digitos) e mostra para um aluno sem nnguem de seu grupo ver o aluno voluntrio tem que dizer o nmero em voz alta em ingls, e os participantes do seu grupo tem que escrever os digitos em papel e mostrar para o teacher o mais rpido possvel, no caso do erro ou se passar de 10 segundos o outro grupo pode roubar a vez valendo dobro dos pontos se acertarem. 01 Hi, folks. As you know, I travelled to NY, to spend my Julys vacation in a High School Interchange Program I won last year Science Fair as the First Prize from my school in Brazil. So far it is very nice, not boring. I am at a Cyber Caf right now, sending this email. I missed chatting to all of you, guys, here I am in a break of my days. I got lost myself into the time, I completely forgot my school appointment, and how was my schedule like. So I`m here with a long spare time let me tell you: it`s summer time, but the last couple of days the weather got fresh. The sky is cloudy in the mornings, but sunny and warm in the afternoons. It sometimes rains a bit during the night. Its not cold yet, but there is an event in town, about new fashion next season year. It is the World Widest Fashion Week presentation and all starts in The Big Apple, as they call it. There are lots of advertising stuff everywhere you look at. It`s funny, you can see elegant and strange dressed people, it remained me Nathalie and Emily, I bet you girls would love that all! Both must drop here someday. I needed to buy warmer clothes for me, I was caught without plans because I didnt bring any for this trip. I bought some Reebarck white socks and Miky gym suit, those were cheaper than in Brazil, by the way. But everything is different than I planned. So far it is very nice, not boring. I am at a Cyber Caf right now, sending this email. I missed chatting to all of you, guys, here I am in a break of my days. I got lost myself into the time, I completely forgot my school appointment, and how was my schedule like. So I`m here with a long spare time let me tell you: it`s summer time, but the last couple of days the weather got fresh. The sky is cloudy in the mornings, but sunny and warm in the afternoons. It sometimes rains a bit during the night. Its not cold yet, but there is an event in town, about new fashion next season year. It is the World Widest Fashion Week presentation and all starts in The Big Apple, as they call it. There are lots of advertising stuff everywhere you look at. It`s funny, you can see elegant and strange dressed people, it remained me Nathalie and Emily, I bet you girls would love that all! Both must drop here someday. I needed to buy warmer clothes for me, I was caught without plans because I didnt bring any for this trip. I bought some Reebarck white socks and Miky gym suit, those were cheaper than in Brazil, by the way. But everything is different than I planned. However, I`m in Manhattan, so everything is worth it in here! I travel back home in the end of July I have back school classes. That`s all for now, I get in touch soon. Regards, Pedro!

Um time por vez eles devem ler as palavras soletrando letra por letra, nunca falando a palavra inteira. Os times que esto ouvindo devero redigir a palavra em um papel e dar para o teacher verificar. O time que apresentar e exercer o exerccio corretamente ganhar um ponto, o time que acertar ganhar 2 pontos por palavra. Pronounciation Game Siga as instrues do Spelling Game s que ao invs de ditar letra por letra o time que apresenta suas palavras dever somente l-las em voz alta com a pronncia correta. Os times oponentes devero redigir o que ouviram, a pontuao e correo funciona como a do Spelling Game. Number Game Parecido com o Spelling Game o teacher comea dando um exemplo ditando 3 nmeros em que os alunos tero que redigir (de 2-4 digitos). Depois cada time faz o mesmo com 2 nmeros diferentes enquanto os times oponentes escrevem o numero (exemplo = 238! Os times devero escrever sem erros de grfia = two-hundred and thirty eight). A pontuao e correo funciona como a do Spelling Game. Color mixing Neste game o teacher dita cores em ingls que sero misturadas e os grupos tero que falar em que cor resultar o mix! ALL IN ENGLISH! (Example= red and yellow...turns into... ORANGE). O teacher dever falar uma color mix para cada time, e s tero 5 segundos para responder. Sendo que 1 ponto para cada rodada e 2 se a questo roubada depois de algum time ter errado ou no souber a resposta. Taboo O teacher escolhe uma palavra a ser usado por time, sendo que as palavras devem ser palavras que foro administradas em aula e do mesmo nvel de dificuldade para cada. Um time por vez participar do Taboo escolhendo um voluntrio que ter que adivinhar a palavra. O teacher escreve a palavra na lousa ( tal como = airplane) o voluntrio do time sentar de costas para a lousa de maneira que no poder ler a palavra. O seu time ter que atravs de descries SOMENTE EM INGLS, ajudar o voluntrio a adivinhar a palavra ( que tambm ter que ser dita em ingls). Portanto o time pode dar dicas tal como = -Its a vehicle.
