Dziedzice[d d it s],GermanSedschtzisa villageintheadministrativedistrictofGmina Strzeleczki(GemeindeKleinStrehlitz),within KrapkowiceCounty,OpoleVoivodeship,insouth westernPolishregionofUpperSilesia.[1]Itlies approximately7kilometres(4mi)westofStrzeleczki, 14km(9mi)westofKrapkowice,and23km(14mi) southwestoftheregionalcapitalOpole. Before1945theareawaspartofGermany(see TerritorialchangesofPolandafterWorldWarII). Since2006thevillage,liketherestofthecommune, hasbeenbilingualinGermanandPolish. Thevillagehasapopulationof450people.

In1945SilesiawasgiventoPolandandtheGermanpopulationofSedschtzwaslargelyexpelled.Thetown wasrenamedDziedziceandannexedtothenewlycreatedSilesianVoivodeship.In1950itwasreassignedto OpoleVoivodeship,andin1999reassignedfromPrudnikCounty(formerlyNeustadtO.S.)toKrapkowice County.On17May2006theentirecommuneofStrzelecki/KleinStrehlitzwasdeclaredbilingualinGerman andPolish,andon24November2008theoldnameGermannameSedschtzwasalsomadeofficial. InthecenterofthetownisamemorialtotheGermansoldiersfromSedschtzkilledinWorldWarIandII amongthese,38werekilledinWWIand47inWWII.
