Peer Review Goals Assignment RICHARD STRIBLING Assignment Instructions: The following characteristics will help you to bring

about change through effective goal setting. Goals should be:

Using what you learned from the book about SMART Goals and goal setting, set a goal for yourself. Use the form below to write the goal and define how you will achieve it. Figure 1.7 - My Personal Goals Sheet To help you get started, use this goal-setting sheet as a template for this and future goals. Goal Statement: (with action verb and target date) I will complete this semester with 100 % attendance and 100 % projects and assignments turned in by the due dates given on the syllabus and no less then 92% grade by 12/20/2013 Action Steps: (concrete things you plan to do to reach your goal) 1. Stay Rested by making sure to get 6-7 Hours of Sleep Per Class Night. 2. Leave 15 Minutes Early to ensure I get to campus on time and am not tardy 3. Stay healthy by getting 15-30 minutes of exercise per day during Semester 4.Spend no less then 45 minutes per week discussing goals and and difficulties with professors 5. Perform 100% of extra credit opportunities to provide better chance of 90% or higher grade

Narrative Statement: (how your life will look when you reach your goal) I will feel accomplished and more like a doer then a thinker by proving to myself that I am not

too old or too rusty in intelligence to complete my Long Term goal of getting my degree in Industrial Safety and obtaining a higher paying and rewarding job. I will also be able to establish a long term relationship without fear of job stability and financial income which will provide greater odds of success.

What obstacles will you need to overcome to reach this goal? My main obstacle will be proper time management skills and appropriating the proper balance and amount of time in between classes and social life. Procrastination is another obstacle that will need to me monitored closely as it has been a long term negative habit of my study skills for over 15 years and will take continue work and awareness to correct. I deserve reaching this goal because: 1. I have dedicated the time and resources to make this happen. 2. I have the ability to contribute more in the workplace with a degree and higher position then I would be able to without. 3. I have made the sacrifice of my time and social interactions for the goal of a higher understanding and education level. 4. I am my own worst enemy and want to prove to the negative people in my life and myself that I have the ability to perform at a higher capacity then I have been for the last 12 years.
