KVÆFJORDKAKE

(Means: The cake from Kvæfjord, also called ”the world`s best”)

Ingredients:
100 grams of sugar

100 grams of butter

4 egg yolks

100 grams of wheat flour

1 teaspoon of baking powder

1 teaspoon of vanilla sugar

4 big spoons of milk

Top/marengs:

4 egg whites

200 grams of sugar

100 grams of almonds

Whipped cream with rum:

2 egg yolks

1 big spoon of sugar

1,5 big spoons of maizena

2 dl cream

Rum essence

2,5 dl cream

2 big spoon of sugar


This is how you bake it:

1. Whip butter and sugar to an airy cream.


2. Stir the egg yolks into the cream.
3. Mix flour, baking powder and vanilla sugar, and put it into the dough in
interaction with pouring the milk into the dough.
4. Put baking paper into a big oven pan.
5. Distribute the dough evenly in all of the pan.
6. Whip the egg whites until they are airy and stiff and put sugar into it.
7. Distribute the marengs on top of the dough in the pan.
8. Chop the almonds and sprinkle it over the dough.
9. Bake the cake in the oven: 180 degrees until it has a golden colour
