16, 2013 The Explanation of the Rhetorical Choices A) According to the Human Rights Organization, everyone no matter to his/her age has their own rights for their own life. However, their right will be limited but not ignored depends on their age until they enter their 18th year. In somehow, parents ignore the childs rights on making decisions, and they make them instead of the child him/herself because they think that they know what would be good for their child. However, the childs self- confidence will be decreased because parents do not build the childs self-confidence and personality by making the decisions instead of the child him/herself. According to Quennerstedt, if parents do not allow or make the child have a decision for his/her life, the child will be following his/her parents footstep. Therefore, the child will have the same civil rights of his/her parents. In other words, the child would grow up on the way that his/her parents want for him/her. Moreover, if the parents make the decision of their children, their children will grow up with no self-confidence. On the other hand, if they help their child to make his/her own decision and convince him/her why this is good or bad, the child will grow up with high self-confidence. According to Katherine, the low childs rights is given to make decisions is the law self-confidence that the child will have. For example, one of my friends does not have self-confidences. He has to go back ask his

parents in every simple thing what he should do because they never let him had a decision about anything while he was growing up. Parents should be careful to do not decrease the child self-confidence. Parents should allow children to make more decisions in order for them to build self-confidence. My reason of writing this public argument paper is to make parents aware from decreasing the child self-confidence. B) My purpose of this public argument, in a brochure, is to convince parents how ignoring the childs right is affecting the childs personality. If parents also ignore this issue, their children might have a mental disease or no self-confidence. According to Webber, ignoring the childs rights or opinions cause a mental disease that leads to a decrease in the childs self-confidence. I provide some suggestions in order to solve this issue. I chose this purpose because I know that there are no parents that want their children to grow up poorly or have no self-confidence. Parents care about their children and want to build them strongly. Therefore, I am sure that parents would pay attention to my arguments. C) My claim is that parents should allow and help their children to make decisions so they grow up with high self-confidence and a strong personality. Frist of all, in my country, which is Kuwait, ignoring the childs rights is common. Since I am Kuwaiti and from my experience living there, parents want the best for their children by making the decisions for their children instead of the children themselves because they know the best for the children. Therefore, the children will grow up with no self-confidence because their parents do not give them a chance to build their personality. However, we have to treat it because that will kill the childs self-

confidence. Second, parents who do not let their children have a decision they will suffer too because they will see unaccepted result which is that their children grow up with weak personality. I used a real life example and statement to make my reasons and claim credible. D) My chosen public audience is the parents in Kuwait. I chose the parents in Kuwait to be my audience because my argument is related to them, and they are too controlling. Parents care the most and want their children to grow up strong. They are interested in reading family articles as well as any other articles are related to the childs health. To meet their needs, I decided to write my public argument in such a way that explains the negative and positive sides and encourages parents to let their children grow up with high self-confidence. E) In Kuwait, there is no any organization or an appropriate place to distribute my brochure. However, it is a universal phenomenon that happens in everywhere around the world. Therefore, I would distribute my brochure at the National Association for Family Child Care Annual Conference, which will take place in Orlando, Florida, July 11, & 12, 2014 (National Association for Family Child Care). I decide to distribute my brochure in this way because people who are going to attend the conference are the people who are interested in the childcare and how to raise the child. Distributing my brochure in this way will make it more credible, and it would give me a credit to start the first childcare organization in Kuwait. Also, since it is related to the purpose of the conference, people will hopefully take a time to read my brochure. National Association for Family Child Care organizes this

conference, which happens ones a year around the states. F) I chose the brochure to present my information in. The brochure is one piece of paper that does not have a specific format or restrictions that let me use my creativity. I have to pay attention to my brochure should not have details which means writing bullet points are butter. I met these conventions by using Microsoft Office Publisher to create my brochure. There were many types of brochure, and I chose the one that works for my argument. I typed my points and used some pictures to address my topic and match it visually, which make it clearly organized. G) The limitations of my argument are the details and the information about the solutions. Since I chose to present my information in a brochure, the information has to be limited because of the space. However, I feel good about how I organize it, and I have the confidence that my audience will understand my purpose of this argument paper.
