Just like any other subject, there is a re uirement you must meet in science courses to pass high school! The usual routine for high school students is to take physical science, follo"ed by biology, and finally chemistry! #o"e$er, % "as chosen as one of t"o freshman students to take biology class first then take physical science as a sophomore& our physical science class "as o$er booked! My biology teacher, Mr! Baumgartner, felt that % "as a mature enough student to handle his class "ith older students! % also decided to follo" up my biology kno"ledge by taking microbiology my junior year "ith chemistry! Biology became of my fa$orite science classes after taking it my freshman year! % had a great teacher and learned a large uantity of ne" things % had ne$er been e'posed to before! Biology "asn(t like any other science class % ha$e taken in middle school& there "ere many lectures and notes to be taken! % chose to use one of my Biology tests to sho" that % did phenomenal in the class despite being young for the class! % did all of this "hile also enjoying "hat % "as learning! Microbiology seemed to take the role of being ad$anced information that you learned from biology taken my freshman year! Though it "asn(t my fa$orite, % really enjoyed the class and liked ad$ancing my kno"ledge from biology! Again, % chose a test e'hibit for this class! This class "as taught in more of a college type setting than a high school setting! )e "ere re uired to read chapters on our o"n, do the home"ork on our o"n, and be ready to test on the information on a gi$en date! *ne or t"o lectures "ere pro$ided each chapter and it "as our job as students to take notes! +or this reason, % am proud of ho" "ell % managed to do on tests in this class! ,cience is all around us! ,ome belie$e that science is the reason human beings are present on earth today! %n the future % kno" % "ill be re uired to use the scientific kno"ledge learned in high school! As a young adult heading into a job in the medical field, it is $itally important to be fond of science courses and to do "ell in them! As an optometrist, science is "hat is keeping your job ali$e! %t is an optometrist(s job to diagnose problems that patients ha$e "ith their eyes, often dealing "ith scientific reasons! Bacteria and $iruses are t"o large reasons people ha$e problems "ith their $ision& both of these organisms deal "ith and can be cured by the study of science!
