Lesson: Caring Grade: 4th Time: 30 minutes Materials: -Poem: Count that Day Lost by George Eliot -Small

foam ball/caring ball pass lesson -Someone who cares story Lesson: -Define what it means to be caring: Showing concern for others -Read Count That Day Lost -Read the story someone who cares -Have students make a list of caring. Give some examples if they need help getting started -Caring ball pass: Students get in a circle (a bigger group can be broken down into smaller groups) Pass the ball around the circle while saying All around goes the caring ball, and where it stops, that one must call. When the phrase stops the person holding the ball has to give an example of someone caring. If they cannot think of one they are out. The game continues until only one person is left.
