CONCLUSION

The project assigned to me during my summer training in HV Axles

Ltd was “REDUCTION OF HUB PLAY COMPLAIN IN ASSEMBLY
LINE” At the time of starting of project rejection of axle due to hub
play had increased from 5 axle per day to approx 20 axles per day
out of 350 axles manufactured.
To understand and reduce this complain I was given formal training of
10 days at Metrology lab to understand checking procedure and after
that attached to supplier quality assurance group to analyze complain
through Fish Bone diagram and to reduce the complain by finding
root cause and closing it through effective CAPA.

Main finding of my project was as follows:

 Process followed in assembly at HV Axles were ok
 Spacer tube quality was not ok and variations were found in
some parameter which was critical from assembly and
functional point of view.

After controlling the variation it was observed that there was 80%
reduction in hub play complain.

This project had not been completed with such a great output if I have
not got technical and functional support from Supplier Quality
assurance group and other related departments .
