Thermal energy is the part of the total potential energy and kinetic energy of an object or sample of matter that results in the system temperature. The colours of the cup influences the heat release to the surrounding. Thermal energy is process-dependent except in systems in which processes to change internal energy other than heating, can be neglected. Thermal energy and heat capacity may be a useful concept in the study of heat transfer in solids and liquids, in engineering and other disciplines.
To align with the problem statements mentioned above, a few objectives of research has been laid out to counter-measure the problems faced:
To determine the heat absorb by colour that from light colour to dark colour. To determine the amount of thermal energy produce by a coloured plastic cup.
6)Repeat the experiment at least 3 times and calculate the average temperatures for each colour.
1)Put the thermometer at the retort stand, let it in the plastic cup. 2)Set the thermometer indoors, out of direct sunlight
5)Repeat steps 3 through 4 using each of the other colours of cups. (white ,blue, red and black.)
centre of the sun. Then poured equally the water into the cup.
1. A thermometer (preferably an indoor/outdoor thermometer because they have the largest temperature range) 2. 4 different colour of cup (black, white, blue and yellow) 3. a clock, stopwatch, or timer 4. sunlight 5.retort stand
