Dear Parent(s) / Guardians, Welcome to Grade 3 at cole Bonaventure!

We anticipate a busy year filled with many interesting and challenging activities for the children. Now that it has begun, we would like to provide you with information that will help answer many of your questions and give you pertinent details regarding our teaching philosophy, the objectives, the routines and a summary of the different subject areas of the grade three curriculum. Our Teaching Philosophy
We feel it is our responsibility to guide the children of today into the future. To achieve this, it is important to provide a positive learning environment where each and every student feels safe and welcome. We believe that all students can succeed. In helping them to reach their goals, we will use a variety of strategies to accommodate their different learning styles. The use of Technology and the Art will be integrated in all subject area. Our classrooms will encourage children to make CHOICES and will let them have a voice. The classroom will promote risk-taking and selfdiscovery.

PARENT SUPPORT:
A students first and most important line of support comes from you. In terms of their school life, there are a number of basic things you can do to help your child: LISTEN: Its normal for them to want to share with you what has happened to them during their day. Your listening tells them that their school life is important. Keep the schools information on your child up to date. Advise us about the highs and the lows of your childs life when they happen. The better and more accurate the information we have, the better we can respond to your childs needs. Reading with your child can be a very satisfying and enjoyable experience for all of you. Just a few minutes each day, sharing a story or part of a book, can increase your childs interest in reading.
