    The Janet E. Shaffer Memorial SOAR Scholarship was set up in 2012 to honor Janet Shaffer, a SOAR member who passed away in 2012. Janet was very active in education and conservation. She was an avid bird watcher and licensed bird bander. As a teacher, she was an inspiration to many students in Pennsylvania and Maryland. Janet was a founding member and director of the Bedford County Bird and Nature Club from 1989, when it was s tarted, until her death.

    in one of the county public schools.

    B. The applicant must complete the scholaiship application aftei uownloauing it fiom the
    S0AR website.

    C. The iecipient of the awaiu must supply a copy of the fiist yeai's college tiansciipt befoie
    ieceiving the awaiu. An official tiansciipt is iequiieu.

    C; @A&#-&'$()6 Each applicant will be evaluateu on the following ciiteiia:
    A. Evaluation of applicant's high school giaue aveiage.
    B. Evaluation of the applicant's activities anu honois, woik expeiience, leaueiship
    positions, anu volunteei expeiience.
    C. Evaluation of essay uesciibing caieei goals.
    B. Evaluation of giammai, spelling, neatness.

    I; E/#$A/03: Completeu scholaiship applications shoulu be submitteu to the uuiuance counseloi
    in late Naich. Check with the counseloi to ueteimine when applications aie
    uue in the uuiuance office. The counseloi will collect the applications, attach an official
