Extreme Heavy Duty XHD. (23.000 psi).
Horsepower: 400 a 1750 HP
Velocidad: 3600, 1800, 1200 o 900 rpm.
Voltaje: 2300, 4160, 4000 V.
Enclosure: Proteccin al agua tipo II: IP24
Tamao del frame: 5011/12 US
Construccin: Cast Iron (Hiero fundido). Frame, soporte y caja principal de
terminales.
121

excelente reputacin a nivel mundial

Presin baromtrica o presin atmosfrica
Presin absoluta
Presin relativa
Presin o tensin de Vapor

The L-shaped mating ring used for dual seal arrangements is designed to be hydraulically balanced when used with
the proper seal size. The pressure limit of the mating ring should be considered along with the seal head pressure limit
when selecting dual seal arrangements.
The pressure limit with OD pressure is 57.2 bar g/830 psig for Silicon Carbide. This chart shows the ID pressure limit
for the Silicon Carbide mating ring.

TYPE 1648/2648/3648
API 682 Category II and III, Type A Pusher Seals
The Type 48 Seal Fami l y
The primary default seal selection per API 682 is the
Type A, multiple-spring pusher seal that is supplied in
single, dual unpressurized and dual pressurized arrange-
ments. The John Crane Type 48 is the seal on which our
API 682 offering is based. The Type 48 family includes
the following seals:
I
Type 48LP
Balanced pusher seal with plain-face design for lower
pressure applications. Used as a single, inboard seal on
dual unpressurized arrangements and as an outboard seal
on either dual pressurized or unpressurized arrangements.
I
Type 48MP
Balanced pusher seal with plain-face design that incorpo-
rates a hammerhead to increase primary ring stiffness for
medium to high pressure applications. Used as a single,
inboard seal on dual unpressurized arrangements and as
an outboard seal on either dual pressurized or unpressur-
ized arrangements.
I
Type 48HP
Balanced pusher seal, with hydropad face design to
enhance face lubrication, incorporates a hammerhead
design to increase stiffness for high pressure designs. Used
as a single, inboard seal on dual unpressurized arrange-
ments, and occasionally as an outboard seal on dual pres-
surized arrangements.
I
Type 48RP
Double balanced pusher seal primarily designed for
ID pressure applications. Commonly referred to as a
reverse-pressure design. Used as an inboard seal on
dual pressurized arrangements and occasionally as an
inboard seal on dual unpressurized arrangements.
I
Type S48
Shorter balanced seal designed for OD pressures only.
Used as an outboard seal on either dual unpressurized
or dual pressurized arrangements.

Example for Determining Pressure Rating Limits:
Seal: 75mm/3" Diameter Type 48LP
Product: Lube Oil
Temperature: 82C/180F
Speed: 3600 rpm
Using the Type 48LP Pressure Ratings Limit graph, the
pressure limit is 37 bar g/535 psig. From the Multiplier
Factors chart, apply the appropriate value, in this case
0.90. For this service condition, the maximum operating
pressure is:
535 psig x 0.90 = 33 bar g/481 psig
Notes:
1. The above temperature derating factors apply to seals with carbon
primary rings only, not hard face vs. hard face combinations.
2. The temperatures noted are product temperatures for single seals or
the expected average temperature of the product and buffer/barrier
fluid for dual seals.

Excessive runout will have a detrimental effect on seal
performance in the form of component wear or excessive
leakage. API 682 limits runout as follows:
I
Centering of the seal is to be by a register fit. The
register fit surface shall be concentric to the shaft and
have a total indicated runout (TIR) of not more than
125 micrometers/0.005".
I
Squareness of the seal chamber face to the shaft shall
not exceed 0.0005" per inch of seal chamber bore
(15 micrometers/3cm).
I
Runout of the sleeve outer diameter to the inner diameter
shall be 0.001"/25 micrometers TIR.

ADVANTAGES
The advantages of an off line
cooling system are a stable
cooling and filtration performance
irrespective of variations in flow
and duty cycle of the main
hydraulic circuit. This allows the
cooler to be sized to fit the heat
load and not the maximum return
flow of the main circuit. A further
advantage is that the off-line cooler
is completely isolated from surge
pressures in the return line that
can potentially damage the cooler.
Also, maintenance can be performed
on the filters without having to
shut down the main system.

FLEXIBLE COUPLINGS
Aflexible coupling is a device used to connect the ends of two
shafts, transmit torque, and at the same time, accommodate slight
misalignments which develop in service.
The primary functions of all flexible couplings are:
1. To transmit power from one shaft to another, efficiently and
effectively.
2. To accommodate slight shaft misalignments which develop in
service.
The secondary functions of flexible couplings are:
1. Protect connected equipment.
a. Absorb shock, vibration and pulsations.
b. Decrease cross load on bearings.
c. Accept load reversals.
d. Minimize backlash.
2. Minimize installation and maintenance difficulties.
Shafts become misaligned during operation because of settling
foundations, the effects of heat, vibration, etc. These
misalignments take place in the form of angular
misalignment, parallel misalignment, or axial movement of
the shafts. Therefore, to get full service life from any flexible
coupling, it is necessary to:
1. ASSURE PROPER SHAFT ALIGNMENT DURING INITIAL
INSTALLATION.
2. OCCASIONALLYCHECK FOR AND CORRECT SHAFT
MISALIGNMENTS DURING OPERATION.
Misaligned shafts not properly coupled are subject to severe
stresses which damage bearings and seals. Any or all of the
misalignments shown in the above diagrams are present in all
connected drives. Therefore, it is imperative that flexible couplings
be used to avoid costly damage to your equipment.
Initial alignment of machinery is one of the most critical factors
affecting coupling performance and reliability. Each particular style
of coupling has its own misalignment capabilities. The installation
and alignment instructions outline the initial alignment
requirements. These initial values are approximately one-third of
the total coupling misalignment capacity. This means that the
coupling has ample reserve to compensate for operational
misalignments which develop as a result of bearing wear,
foundation settling, thermal growth, pipe strain, etc. However, the
closer the initial alignment, the more reserve margin a coupling has
to compensate for misalignments during the life of the machine. A
coupling that operates with large amounts of misalignment will have
a limited life, while a coupling operating within capacity will have
infinite life.
The customer and coupling manufacturer must mutually select the
correct size and type coupling for the application. Good service life
will then become a reality if proper installation and alignment
procedures are followed.
The following pages show basic coupling arrangements and load
classifications based on years of experience in coupling
applications in all phases of power transmission. Any unusual
operating or misalignment conditions should be referred to Rexnord
to assure proper selection of size and type of coupling.

INTRODUCTION
This document provides a descriptive overview of the Vector
VII
Variable Speed Drive (VSD)
available from Wood Group ESP. Information is provided on available ratings, physical size,
product features, general operation, and available options. Additional details regarding drive
set-up, operation, and troubleshooting are available in the Vector VII Variable Speed Drive
Users Manual. The descriptions and information contained in this publication are for
informational purposes only and should not be used to install, set-up, program, or operate the
Vector VII drive.
Note: This publication describes the standard Vector VII Variable Speed Drive and includes
descriptions of the most common drive options and modifications. Specific features may be
added (or disabled) from the product depending on the specific application. All specifications
and information contained in this publication are subject to change without notice.
DRIVE DESCRIPTION
The Vector VII Variable Speed Drive is designed specifically for oil-field pumping applications
including electrical submersible pumps (ESP) and surface pumping systems (SPS). Vector VII
drives are available in ratings from 104 KVA to1500 KVA. They are provided in rugged outdoor
rated enclosures designed for a wide variety of environments ranging from arctic to desert
conditions. Application specific software and a Wood Group ESP Custom Operator Control
Panel combine to optimize pump control while simplifying drive operation.
Vector VII uses the latest Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBT) technology in combination
with surface mount printed circuit boards to create a VSD of the highest reliability, and small
physical size. Fixed voltage, three-phase AC input power is first converted to a fixed DC bus
voltage by the input rectifier section of the drive. That fixed DC bus voltage is then processed
by the inverter section to produce a sine coded variable voltage, variable frequency output to
control the speed of the motor.
For ESP applications, the Vector VII Variable Speed Drive is available with integrated VSG
Technology. With VSG Technology the drive output voltage waveform is a near perfect sine-
wave which results in improved motor performance, extended motor run life, extended motor
cable life, and increased operational efficiency in the driven equipment. Vector VII drives with
VSG (Variable Sinewave Generation) technology can successfully operate with motor cable
lengths up to 15,000 ft.
User adjustments include operating speed, acceleration and deceleration rates, motor overload
protection settings, auto restarts, time delays, and stopping methods. Control methods include
frequency control, current control, pressure control, or analog follower (Analog 1 = 0-10 VDC,
Analog 2 = 0-10 VDC or 4-20 mA) capability.

L129 Series
Float Operated
Desc ription
The L129 Series Lube Level Swichgage
instrument is a combination lube level indi-
cating gage and adjustable low and high limit
switches. It provides protection against low
oil level or high level caused by overfill or
fuel or water seepage into the crankcase.
A 6-3/4 inch (171 mm) deep sight gauge
allows you check the condition and level of
your oil without shutting down the equipment.
Fingertip adjustable limit contacts, thru
4-7/8 inch (122 mm) range, make it simple to
set high and low limit contacts. If the float
touches the high or low limit contact, a normal-
ly open circuit will be completed which can
activate alarms and/or shutdown the equipment.
There are two models in the L129 Series:
L129 and L129CK1. The L129 model is
designed for grounded, low voltage electrical
systems. It features a one-wire-to-ground elec-
trical circuit. The L129CK1 was designed for
applications requiring a three-wire, above
ground electrical circuit. It features unground-
ed contacts and a conduit hub to protect
electrical wiring.
Options are available for both models.
A flow restrictor plug is available that restricts
oil flow from the crankcase to the L129 Series
switch and vice versa. It is typically used on
applications where the engine is not stationary
such as marine and mobile equipment.
The L129 Series Lube Level SWICHGAGE
,
when properly installed and maintained, can
monitor and protect your engines and pumps
from improper lubrication level, which can
result in extensive damage.
Applic ations
The L129 Series is recommended for engines
and pumps with larger crankcase capacity.
Although designed primarily for stationary
engines, the L129 Series is often used in
mobile applications such as marine, rail, and
some large off-highway trucks.
