Driving Question:
How can we as global citizens demonstrate the connection between consumer electronics and the conflict in the Democratic Republic of the Congo so that people can be more aware of their responsibility when choosing to purchase electronic devices? By: Sarai D Lisa G Jada W Duygu C
In 2009, death rates were moderate to severe in the DRC. With the rates being in between the 10-20 mark per every 1000 people.
The death toll in 2013 increase to approximately 10.96 per 1000 people. This prediction was primarily based off the fact of technology only becoming more common and enhanced, therefore more of these conflict materials will be needed/used by manufacturers.

3. Return the items to the store so they can recycle the item properly for you.
Economic Impact:
The economic impact of cell phone and electronics in the DRC are : 1. An increase in revenue from overseas supporters, rise in income to high purchasers of minerals produced in the DRC such as manufacturers. 2. The majority of funds from this business goes towards the bloody wars on its very own country caused by rebels and members of the government. 3. Manufacturers although aware of the big issue still depend on the DRC to supply them with minerals used for their products such as cell phones, laptops, etc.
