LINEAR PROGRAMMING: A DIET PROBLEM

Let assume consumption unit of Oatmeal, chicken, Eggs, Whole Milk, Cherry Pie, Pork With Beans are X1, X2, X3, X4, X5, X6 respectively. In this question we have to minimize the price on which this food a person must spend for meeting his required daily diet if he/she consumes these foods. Since the prices by serving size are given so, Z= 3X1+24X2+13X3+9X4+20X5+19X6 1. Here requirement of ENERGY is fixed per day and the food contains ENERGY is given in Kcal so the equation is110X1+205X2+160X3+160X4+420X5+260X6=2000 2. Here requirement of PROTEINS fixed per day and the food contains PROTEINS given in gm so the equation is 4X1+32X2+13X3+8X4+4X5+14X6=50 3. Here requirement of CALSIUM is fixed per day and the food contains CALSIUM is given in mg so the equation is 2X1+12X2+54X3+285X4+22X5+80X6=800 But here serving per day is also restricted to a fixed amount 1. X1<=4 2. X2<= 3 3. X3<= 2 4. X4<= 8 5. X5<= 2 6. X6<= 2 HERE ALL X1, X2, X3, X4, X5, X6 >= 0
