REFLECTION

The forum for Language Development assignment has been done by my group on the third of September 2008. My group has chosen a latest and academic topic that is Teaching Science and Mathematics: Pros and Cons. We choose this topic because it is relevant with our learning and it is related with the education field and our future as a teacher.

My group and I try to do our best in this forum. We have been searching for the point of this topic for about three weeks in order to make sure we are well prepared. Besides that, I have practice to memories the main point of my part as an educationist in this forum to ensure that I can speak fluently and the audience will understand me.

During the forum, everything flow well and every group members can present their point in a good manner. In my opinion, our voice projector, facial expression, self confident, and eye contact with the audience are quite good. The problems that we have to face during the presentation are lack of vocabularies and weak in our sentence structures. Moreover, we are having some misunderstanding with the time keeper. It is started when she show us that the time left for our presentation is 15 minutes for the first section. Unfortunately we taught it is for the whole presentation. Therefore we try to finish with our conclusion in that short time. Suddenly, she shows us that the second section just begin, we have no idea during that time. Therefore, I try my best to speak

out my opinion with the new ideas spontaneously to recover our misunderstanding. Our group feel grateful because we manage to overcome the problem.

Although we manage to finish up our presentation there are still a lot of things that we have to improve especially our grammatical error and sentence structure. In my opinion, I have to practice a lot and always reading books or magazines in order to improve my level of proficiency.

As a conclusion, I have gains a valuable experience from this forum and from this activity my confident level to speak in front of the audience has increase. Moreover, as a future teacher, I feel more sensitive with the current issues especially in the education area after this forum presentation.
