The Madagascar jumping frog inhabits dry deciduous forest, and has not been found outside forest in open areas, but can be found in somewhat degraded forest. It is extremely well camouflaged in its natural habitat with different coloured browns on its skin. This species is now only known from Kirindy orest in western Madagascar. Kirindy orest is seriously threatened by subsistence farming, wood extraction, and li!estock. This frog breeds in temporary pools and puddles" the lar!ae grow rapidly, de!eloping in #$ days.
