Becoming a Master Student

There are several steps I need to take in becoming a Master Student the first I will

cover being the power of telling the truth about my current skills, second the style of

learning that I subscribe to and the ones that elude me, and lastly the attitudes that will

promote my success in school.

By doing the Truth & Discovery Wheel I identified the skills I have as a student. I

discovered that my strongest skill is motivation, followed by purpose. I found that the

Truth and Discovery Wheel where a very accurate portrayal of my skills and weaknesses

as a student. The area that I wish to improve the most would have to be my note taking

skills. By focusing on my weak areas and relying on my strong points. By improving

these weak areas’s I will achieve a greater level of success as a student. This will give me

a guide to myself and my abilities.

In becoming a Master Student I completed two different learning inventories; the

VAK and the KOLB’s learning inventories. I discovered that I learn best by analyzing

everything. I also discovered that I think best by brainstorming and creative imagination.

By completing these inventories I found the strengths and weaknesses in my learning

style. I found that I need to improve my lack of focus as well as turning my work in on

time. This also told me that I learn best by watching and thinking.

The third and final step in becoming a Master Student is the attitude I have for

promoting my success in school. Some techniques to practice are visualizing and

affirming. You can use affirming to replace bad attitudes with good ones. Visualization

and affirmation can restructure your attitudes.

I covered the 3 steps I have taken to becoming a Master Student in this essay. The
road to becoming a master student will be a rough one but I have the skills to do it.

Nothing in my life has come to me easy so I am willing to work for it. These are the

steps that are necessary to complete in order to become a master student.
