Level: 3ESO Class: Learning Objectives: Students will learn key vocabulary associated with ordering food in a restaurant and refine their ability to ask questions. They will be able to categorize food by flavors and by degree of health. Time of lesson: 8:30 Length of lesson: 1 hour Date:13-10-2011 No. of students: 25

Learning Outcomes: (what will the students be able to do by the end of the lesson) Students will be able to recognize and utilize key phrases in English to order food in a restaurant. They will be able to ask questions about menu offerings.

20 minutes

As a class, we will complete activity two on page 16 of the textbook. Classwork/ Then the students will work in pairs to complete activity three. We will Pairwork review it as a class, with each pair obligated to answer each of the three questions.

5 minutes As a class, we will go over a worksheet that emphasizes question words associated with food. Classwork 10 minutes Students will work in pairs to categorize items on an American menu as healthy, unhealthy, sweet, salty, etc. We will review as a class. Pairwork Students will be put into pairs and each student will receive a menu. Students will have to ask questions to their partners to find out what the Pairwork differences between the menus are. Students will also look up any unknown words to expand their vocabulary.
